X8 Ribbon Bar

Is the ribbon bar fixed at the top of the interface permanently now? I've always moved it to the bottom since the first release of X. Or am I just being a retard by not being able to figure out how to move it?

I was told by someone at CNC Software that you can't move it now. I want it at the bottom as well.

Everything in the interface is customizable except the ribbon bar. That's either a mistake or an asinine interface design decision. My money is on the later.

No some users were having issues with undocking it and then loosing it or redocking it in a condition that the far right or left side were off the screen.

It's easier to just lock it down.

Like I said, asinine design decision. Instead of users learning how to correctly use the system, some sort of idiot proofing that cripples the interface is added. :sigh:

 

Oh well. I just installed X8 yesterday and this is my first quibble. I'm sure there will be more.

The decision was made to enable some new things we are working on. And you will like them much better than an undockable ribbon bar. ;-)

I have managed to move the ribbon bar to the bottom of the screen.
