We recently got a new Milltronics 6150 VMC,we have been having a problem with the surface finish, especially parallel surfaces. We have an idea that it is the surfaces in the model we have that is causing the poor finish. It would be helpful to see if anyone else is having this issue. We have eliminated bad tool, chatter, and basically mechanical issues but still having problems. The surface finish issue are on an aluminum part FYI.

Thanks

Just not enough info......

Parallel works good on flat or near flat surfaces, if you need to machine 3D sculpted surfaces, most times parallel isn't going to be the best choice

Thank you for this useful info. I used to think that PARALLEL was the best selection for 3D sculpted surfaces. Would you please tell us what is the best ..... Thanks again!

There is no single best path, the geometry type and shape will really dictate more often than not the best approach.
