Color Issue

OK, first off, I am running Mastercam X9, Update 3 (18.0.18466.0) on a 64bit Windows 7 machine with 16.0GB Ram and an Intel Xeon CPU E5-2637 v2 @3.50GHz (2 processors), and

NVIDIA Quadro K4000 graphics card.

I am trying to change the color of the solid and the wireframes on a part I imported into a current file.  Currently the Solid and Wireframes are red, but I have right clicked on the wireframe box, selected all wireframe entities and changed it from red (12) to grey (8), but when i do Clear Colors, they are still red. If I analyze the wireframe, the color attribute is 8 not 12.  Same issue with the solid.  I can change the colors of the other solids/wireframes, but not the imported ones.

Any Ideas?

OK, it worked fine if I opened the stp file in a new window, but when i merged the file to the older rev file, back to the same issue, and the Clear All option is not working. I also tried merging the MCX-9 file where I could change the colors to the File I am working on, and as soon as I hit apply or the green check, the solid and wireframe go from the preset colors (blue and orange just for contrast) to red/red and cannot be changed, even with the attributes stating they are different colors.

Settings / Config / Shading...Make sure "Entity Color" is selected

It is selected.

Have you tried the attribute manager? (assuming X9 still has that).

"Apply to existing entities"

I have tried that, and it already states it is color 8 (dark grey), but the color on the screen is red (12).

When I first import it, it has the system colors set, but once I hit apply (blue ball) or accept (green check), ith changes both solids and wireframes to red, but the attributes state they are the system colors.

When merging it becomes a group color. go to setting configure colors and fin group color in pull down and change it to use entity colors

I checked and the did change it to use entity colors.  But still having the issues.  I have tried other .stp files as well, including copying th e solid to  a new level and still can change the color.

I am uploaded the .stp file and a zip2go with the rest of the information.

I was able to do it very quickly. Might need to check your video driver I see on your system it has not been updated on your K4000 video driver as you can see here.

Graphics card: NVIDIA Quadro K4000
Memory: 3.00 GB
Resolution: 1680 x 1050
Driver: nvd3dumx.dll,nvwgf2umx.dll,nvwgf2umx.dll,nvd3dum,nvwgf2um,nvwgf2um
Version: 9.18.13.4066
Date: 8/3/2014 8:00:00 PM

I was able to go to Model Prep and clear colors and faces. I was able to then change to color 172. If you cannot in 3 clicks get the color changed then update your video driver and try it again. Also might check to make sure the computer is not reverting back to the on board card if it has one. You must be the IT guy sometimes as most IT people have no clue how to get a workstation working correctly for Mastercam. Here are some screen shots that will hopefully point you in the right direction.

GTH (Glad to Help)
