Holes not round

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if it's my MpMaster post or my machine as I've never seen this before...

On my Kia mill, Fanuc 0M.

When ramping a hole on this machine, it will be round ONLY if the total Z depth is equally divisible by the ramp depth ie: 2" deep with .400 ramp depths.

If it's .400 ramp and 1.7 total depth, the hole is way out of round, depending on hole size it's as much as .005 out of round.

Anyone ever have this happen before?

EDIT:

I just compared the code to my Okuma post and it's identical, so it has to be my machine.

Try breaking your circle into 2 sections at 180 deg apart, repost and run again. The kia may have a issue with full circle cuts.

Isn't there a place in the MpMaster to do this? I've looked and can't seem to find it.

edit

nvm it's in the contorl def duh

I think this is issue with your machine

If you backplot the code..  the even code makes all passes starting at 9 oclock (-x)

the uneven code makes all the ramp passes at 9 then makes the final floor pass starting a 6 oclock (-y)

try changing the start anlge of the uneven pass so it makes it's finish pass starting at 9 oclock

if the hole is better, you've got machine issues
