Entry/Exit Control

Scanning a rad on inside bore using a recessed cutter ( see pic), using flowline toolpath, tool does what I want it to do when machining, i.e. recessed shank misses top hole.

But I really need to control entry and exit of the tool - otherwise it will hit top hole. Can you control entry in flowline - or any other toolpath I can use. Getting by, by editing posted pgm to start and return to centre of hole on entry and exit - but safer if i can use something to just go off post ?

Check the gap settings and the directions tab. You should be able to find something.

 

You could also use ref points.

There's a direction box you can activate...set an XY direction and distance

 

but I generally end up using that and the toolpath editor to get the exact motion I want

Try an actual point toolpath in place of reference point

there is a switch in the Control def that controls Reference Points

Check and see if it's turned off

You could also try flowlineing it with it set to spiral, backplot it and save toolpath geo to another level then draw your lead in and outs in and contour it.
