my son just got one of those, purchased locally.

 It has the 980M video card. Kicks butt on gaming.

his model had no SSD and was $1200.

 

 another asociate just got an ASUS ROG GL552V

Has a GTX980, a 1Tb storage drive plus a 128SSD

$1200 too.

I'll also add to the chorus. I run a MSI as well, very similar to that one, and love it. The screen, Nvidia card, and SSD are all awesome. The machine I bought came with 24 Gb of RAM, which is the only major difference, but I think the one in your link has a faster processor.

 

I got mine at Best Buy, because I needed a computer that day, so mine was an "off the shelf" model. Overall, I'd make the same purchase again. In fact, when I do need a new machine, I'll probably just go to BB again and pick up another MSI. I can't say enough good things about them.

Thanks guys, I've built several desktops using MSI motherboards & I agree that they are good platforms. I haven't run MC on a laptop before, so I just thought I'd get some feedback from y'all on this one. I think I'm gonna go ahead & get it then.

Depending on the type of work you do, you may want to think about getting the 980 card. 

It can't be much more $,but it's definitely more performance.
