Lathe - Groove MC2017

Ok, I was just looking at a file for someone.

 

I went to try a toolpath for them in MC2017, and tried a Lathe Groove toolpath. The chain option is grayed out, and it will only let me use 1 point, 2 points, or three lines.

 

What is up with that? The same profile in X9, I can chain.

I think once you've selected points, you can't go back

there should be no trouble using chains for a fresh grooving toolpath

No, it was a new toolpath. Person wanted some instruction on how to toolpath a tricky groove.

 

Because the Ribbon Bar expands down to show General, Manual and Canned toolpaths, it is easy to scroll down to Canned and not realise it. The Category heading doesn't update when you scroll down, and that is what caught me.

Right click in the operations manager and get away from the ribbon for toolpaths. Life is much better when you go about it this way. :scooter: :turned:

I have to agree with you there Ron. It sure is easier with the right click
