mpmaster comment

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

can someone tell me how modify mpmaster post?

My comment is "FINISH PROFILE CONTOUR" and it shows up in N15 but i want to show up in N25 right next to the FLAT ENDMILL.

I would like it to look like: T1 M06 (1/2 FLAT ENDMILL FINISH PROFILE CONTOUR)

any help is appreciated.

I can think of one reason: readability. Repeating the tool name may be redundancy, but doesn't IMO make it more dangerous or harmful. It could even be useful when using mid-restart, if the operator isn't familiar with the program.

Okay so move the comment below the tool change and now when you go to rerun it then you get it at every mid start. Comments and Tool comments are 2 different things and come from 2 different places in the software. That is done for a reason so take all of that and throw it out the window is not a good direction. Want to make some different man readable stuff is one things, but taking comments and combing them with a tool comment is recipe for disaster in my humble opinion. I don't see to many jumping in to explain how to do it so for those agreeing this is a good direction please chime in on how to go about it. I would like to see it done and have a good output come from doing it. I did take the time to look at how tool comments and comments are handled in MP posts and like I said above they come from 2 completely different sections of the post and combing them to get one output is not a good decision. You want this capability then name your tools you comments and then have 50 copies of the same tool when you are using the same tool in 50 operations. Not a good decision then if you need to change the speed and feed or anything on the tool then all 50 tools get hosed. Same applies with combing the tool comment with the operation comment. They are different for a very good reason and sorry I asked for a good explanation why it is needed and so far have not got one. If I am wrong I am person enough to say I am wrong and this is a good decision, but with my experience and seeing what I have seen it screams not a good decision in my book.

My comments are not directed at any one person and not meant in a personal way so hopefully no one takes them that way and that is not the way I am meant for them to be understood.
