Stepover from tool library

Is this not working Mcamx8?  The library is setup with stepover and depth of cut set to our requirement.

When we call the tool into our operations, we get a rediculously low stepover.

We are just setting up to change over to mcacm2017, and would like to get this sorted before our new worker, and machine arrive..

We program the value of the stepover by hand, but if it is defined in the tool library, why doesn't it come in correctly?

I have got the "use too step" function turned on.  We put in a stepover of 0.09mm in the tool, in the tool library, but when it gets read into the operation, it comes in at a stepover of 0.0007mm. Still persavering with this, as we would like this to function..

All help gratefully accepted.

I would recommend using HSMAdvisor or Helical Milling Advisor or the like.  You'll find that the optimal stepover varies with the material and depth of cut, as does the optimal feed and speed.  I use the Advisor and set the cut depth, step, feed, and speed specifically for each and every operation.  It makes a big difference in cycle time and tool life.
