Do you have the latest drivers? The deafult drivers BLOW. I've got a 5600 with 256MB RAM and it's quite an improvement over the old Matrox G450 32MB. Smooth dynamic rotation even with large complex files.

I also have a FX 5600 it does the same thing. My dealer said to install an older driver 44.03 but I can not figure out how to install an older driver. other problems i have noticed the arrows when chaining and in solid disappear. and show drive surfaces doesnot do anything.

Jody to un-install the drivers go into the Hardware option under System in the Control Panel and you can remove the video all togeather.

before you do this go to add & remove software options and remove the Nvidia drivers ther to start.

Once you restart it will say it found new Video now you can run the older drivers.

I've been running a Quadro FX-500 on my home machine and have had no trouble at all.

This is a dedicated CAD/CAM card not a gaming card. I have found no issues at all with Mastercam

and it ROCKS with SolidWorks and Predator.

The price of this card has come down quit a bit.

I paid $285 for one from Amazon.com 6 months ago.

That was a killer price back then.

You can get this card from Monarch Comuputer now

for $237.

I just recently had a new comp. built.

Our it guy put in the 440 card which wacks it.

i did a search here and I found that Jay recomended the 5600.

So I had him get this instead.

Now it rocks.

Having xp installed with the latest and greatest hardware also helped out alot too! tongue.gif

I did find that I had problems with the "out of the box" drivers, and had to go to their site and downlosd the latest.

I was told that nvidia makes updates all the time,so you may want to check there often.

Good Day G-code,

What kind of machine is the quatro-FX running?

And you didnt find any problem with viewport or

WCS indicator flickering or disapearing...?

The Quadro FX-500 originally ran in 2.3P4 clone. Its now running in a 2 year old Dell workstaion

at home. I have had no trouble with Mastercam in either machine.

My boss just bought me a new Dell workstation

3.2 P4 with a Quadro FX-1000. It is also running

Mastercam without any problems

edit: The FX-500 is an 8X AGP card. Both of these

machines have 4x AGP motherboards so the card cannot run at full potenial on either machine.
