Got to admit, i dont know what a 4K monitor is..

I'm starting  to think that the 8.1 is the cause.  Win7 Ultimate never did anything like this...

Its a dell precision 7710 Laptop 16Gb

Nvidia Quadro M4000M w/4GB GDDR5 dedicated memory

Intel Core i7-6820HQ Quad Core 2.70GHz, 3.60GHz Turbo, 8MB 45W

Windows 8.1 Pro (64-bit)

17.3" UltraSharp™ FHD IPS (1920x1080) Wide View Anti-Glare LED-backlit with Premium Panel

4K is the resolution of the monitor. it's 4x the pixel density of 1080p (high def).

Yours is 1920 x 1080.  4K is 3840 x 2160.

3840 lines vertically and 2160 lines horizontally.

It looks gorgeous, but most programs in 4K make icons and text 4x smaller than 1080p.

The lack of scalability of the Quick Access Bar is a horse that has been flogged to death.

Here  is my solution to it :

Windows 10 , 32 inch screen ,resolution 2560 x 1440

The solution : scale the font to 160%. What will happen now is that  other programs might suffer a "hazy look". That can be taken care of (WIN 10 )  by  turning on "override high DPI

scaling behavior" in the Compatibility Tab of every hazy program start icon properties. ( this tab gets turned on when you go over 150% i believe)5a3de911bfdc3_dpioverride.thumb.png.8d03c5a65cbc5f9a76947f28ce556ee7.png
