trim/ extend line to surface

It seemed like an easy thing to do but for whatever reason I can't seem to figure it out.

 

I have a angled line on the z axis and I'm trying to extend it to a surface above it. Is there a way to do it that I'm just not seeing?

Without something to see what your seeing going to be real hard to help, but have you tired making a silhouette boundary and trim the line to that shape? Made an intersection shape to trim to? Tried projecting the line to the surface using copy and then using that to help trim to? There is also the Verisurf free add-on that allows you to project a point so you could try that it is called pierce. I can think of a lot of different ways in Mastercam to do what your asking, but without something to go by going to be real hard to know which one is the best method ti help you get what your asking about. Welcome to the forum and hopefully someone can help narrow it down.

I was able to make it work using the project method you recommended.

Thank you for the help, now I'll be able to sleep in peace hahaha

 

 

So far I've never used the silhouette boundary tool. Definitely have to check that out

sometimes trimming in 2D helps , they don't have to intersect in all 3 axis
