I recently had my computer upgraded and have been running MCX4, last week our I.T. guy installed the MU3 update and ever since then I have been getting errors when running verify and getting fatal verify/simulation error I dont have the settings real high and have been dropping the settings. Also since I have had the MU3 installed the screen flashes when the simulation is runing. Is there settings or something I need to change in MCX or maybe the vid. card? Sorry for the multipal posts.

You could try shutting down the hardware acceleration for Mcam. Open a "new file" in Mcam, go to the settings drop down and select "configuration". In the system config utility select the topic for "screen" and in the upper middle of the page you'll see graphics support. Check the box to disable the hardware acceleration. After you save the config you'll need to close Mcam then when you reopen it Mcam will not use the hware accel.

Typically when the screen flashes during verify or backplot it has more to due with the graphics support of the computer. These are the minimum graphics requirements from the Mastercam.com website.

Graphics Configuration

256MB OpenGL-compatible graphics card (minimum)

Professional-level graphics card designed for CAD/CAM applications required, NVidia Quadro or AMD FirePro series recommended

Integrated graphics controllers are not supported

1280 x 1024 pixel resolution (minimum)

Full hardware acceleration display setting is recommended

Thanks for the reply I changed that setting and will see how it does as far as this comp. goes it has a Nvidia Quadro 2000 and is a 6 core 3.47GHz processor 64 bit with 6GB of ram on windows 7 prof. I think it should run MCX with no trouble.I'm just not sure if all the settings are correct.

Something else off this topic, is we have been haveing toruble with is on the machine group properties page where the Toolpath directory is it keeps defaulting back to the NC folder in MCX instead of staying where we have it set to go to our machines directories. is there a setting somewhere to lock this so it stays where we want it to or is it something we will just have to live with. the problem has only started happining since our pc upgrades to windows 7 so not exactly sure where the problem lies.

File mapping for the NC directories is in the control definition file,

  • 3 weeks later...

In Gcode's screen shot the last couple of options are not visible. On the visual effects tab, scroll down - there are a few more settings listed. What are the settings for;

Use drop shadows for icon labels and the desktop

Use visual styles on windows and buttons

\Edit

answer found here link

Use Drop shadows ... unchecked

Use visual styles on windows and buttons ... checked
