Auto Highlighter fustrations

I did a search on this subject and found that others are having same problems. I tried everything that was suggested in previous post.

This is in X5 and when I click on geometry it will not highlight until I move the geometry with my spaceball. I don't know if I have even clicked on the geometry until I move the screen. This is so fustrating. I did not have as much problems with X4, although it did hickup from time to time.

What I have done up to this point is go to My computer -> properties -> Advanced -> Performance Settings -> Adjust for best perfomance.

Operating System is XP SP2

Video card is Nvidia Quadro FX 3800

Computer is HP Z400 Quad core 64 bit

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

If you have a new Dell with a Quadro video card.. uninstall the Dell video drivers and install

the latest greatest from Nvidia

Nvidia Drivers page

also go into System Config/Start/Exit page and make sure

"Enable 3D Connexion Device" is checked

I don't know why, but Dell drivers and Mastercam do not play well together.

See the attached screen shot for how I have my video performance set up.

I have zero video issues with Mastercam and a Spaceball with these settings

running Win7x64

Control Panel, System Properties, Advanced, Performance, Settings, set them exactly like gcode posted in his screen shot.

I had them all checked make sure you click -Custom: Then change the settings.

It worked for me Sandybar, im running a invidia Quadro fx card with drivers downloaded from invidia.

Thanks again Gcode!:)

Spaceballs are getting pretty old.. have you tried updating to the latest driver.. they just released a new version late month.

For an experiment, try taking it off the computer... and uninstalling the spaceball drivers..

If the problem goes away.. its time to upgrade to a Space Pilot or Space Pilot Pro

I'm grasping at straws now.

Is it possible you have multiple enity on the screen.

For example.. you have a simple cube with lines drawn on all the edges.

You are in Top Construction Plane and Top View.

You will not be able to select any of the visible edges because the bottom set of lines

is directly under the top set.

The system does not know which line to select so it does nothing.

Rolling the model slightly solves the problem..
