  1. But many applications can't use this 1GB extra memory, many program writers don't consider this feature.
  2. FYI if you have 4 GB RAM, XP allocates 2GB to its kernel. So there's ony 2GB left for data. You can increase data allocation to 3GB by modifying boot.ini. [boot loader] code: timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional 3GB" /fastdetect /3GB multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect It's a must-know for CATIA users. 3. quote: Geomagic is great except that it really only shines when you have MILLIONS of points. When using a Faro, Microscribe, etc. you are really limited to creating splines and lofting them together. +1 on that. RapidForm and Geomagic are two greatest Reverse Engineering softwares which can work with point cloud easily. CopyCAD is another rev eng software from DELCAM (also works well on point cloud). If you're interested you can fill a form at RapidForm site and get a free trial for 30 days. HTH
  4. quote: I did some behind-the-sceens-magic with the MMB and it's already that way. (shift/ctrl/whatever) MMB down and held-down starts gview dynamic, pan, etc.... Releasing the MMB (MMB up) exits. Where can I find new codes? My mouse doesn't work well. Sometimes holding SHIFT and pressing MMB still works as rotate, and Releasing the MMB doesn't exit eiter. I'm using 1 A4Tech 5 buttons 2 scrolls.
  5. quote: Expanded screen middle click. You can now assign Gview dynamic, Gview pan, Gview zoom, or Zoom Window to screen middle clicks: Middle-click Shift-Middle-click Ctrl-Middle-click Shift-Ctrl-Middle-click Thanks Bryan. I have a suggestion, the user begins rotate/zoom/pan with MMB, is there a way to stop rotate with the middle-button again instead of LMB?
  6. quote: I'll look into it. I think I can doit. Bryan Thanks alot.
  7. Thanks Bryan for this cool CHOOK. Is there any chance to change middle mouse button behavir too? I mainly use SolidWorks and Rhino/PowerSHAPE and I use to use MMB alot. MMB->Rotate Shift+MMB->dynamic pan Ctrl+MMB->dynamic zoom Shift+Ctrl+MBB->zoom window It's very useful if MMB can be used more effieciently in MC. My wish is I could customize MMB+key combination in MC.
  8. Which version of detonator driver are you using? Besides Anti Virus software may decrease the speed of shading.
  9. I can't download your file now. But there seems a problem with a surface in that layer. Unshade and check surfaces. I think there should be a self intersecting surface or bad surface in that layer. I use Rhino usually and when such a thing happen the first thing I do is looking for bad geo using "BAD" command. And %99 of time I can fix it with 1- Untrim and a ReTrim again. 2- Rebuild edges of surfaces
  10. Thanks Jack Mitchel, nice exercise. Here's my solution: SW2004 model. 7 main features 13 features 1 solid 2 surfaces. [ 05-19-2004, 07:20 PM: Message edited by: kwolf ]
  11. Maybe a self intersecting surface or a tolerance issue in PRO/E. Did you ask the proe designer to check the geo? I'm sure you'll get more answers, if you can upload it to FTP. HTH
  12. quote: We currently use AutoCAD Mechanical Desktop for this but Autodesk is replacing this with Inventor Which is way more software than i need Well I once heard MDT 5 would be last version, but since then they released MDT 6,2004 and 2004DX. I don't think MDT will be replaced by anything, it's possible that they remove part modeling from MDT but 2d drafting will be left intact. Inventor is just like SolidWorks and no solid modeler is suited for 2d drafting as far as I know unless you have a solid model in it. Latest versions of Inventor always accompanied by MDT. Inventor 8 professional has 3 CDs , the seconcd CD is MDt 2004DX.
  13. Bullines was faster. BTW I hate GigaBytes Mobo.
  14. I've been always happy with ASUS. Months ago I searched on the net and found this. Mobo Tsunami Winner MSI Neo and Neo2 HTH [ 05-07-2004, 04:50 PM: Message edited by: kwolf ]
  15. Tom, Thanks for the reply. I can send you the file which caused crash in 4.33.12. Try "Find X/Y/Z Range" and you'll see it. Uninstall-reboot-reinstalling-reboot didn't help. I just downgraded to 4.33.07 and it worked. It showed me the results but as soon as I select OK it crashed. Tested on Athlon 1800/2000xp-XPSP1-GF3/4-ASUS A7V333 Just tell me your email and so I send it.
  16. Try another version (older or newer). I had a problem with 4.33.12. It crashed when I used "Find X/Y/Z range", It seemed that only this version had this specific problem. Later versions as well as older ones were fine. HTH
  17. +1 Christian I once had this following folder on XPSP1 NTFS parttion. "E:prgsUtilsMultiMedia CD DVDCD DVD Tools inc movie conversion MPEGBurning Reading Specially Region FreeMisc-IFOEdit and othersIFOEDITGuide on splitting a DVD9 into two DVD5's - Club CD Freaks - Worlds largest CD-DVD community - Knowlegde is power_files" There are some files/folders in the last folder but I couldn't access them, moreover there was no properties available and I can't rename dir too. The solution was to shorten the parent folders names and I could CHDIR to last folder. P.S If you want to try it. Create parent folders. MKDIR last folder with 1 letter name. Then rename folder to the "Guide on splitting a DVD9 into two DVD5's - Club CD Freaks - Worlds largest CD-DVD community - Knowlegde is power_files". Now you can't CHDIR to it.
  18. Bullines, I had changed it with "FSUTIL" command and the registry shows that the value set to 1. But this hasn't any effect on folder timestamp. Whenever I copy a file to a folder , the folder timestamp will be updated. Is there a way to set timestamp to its creation date each time it wants to change? Iskander, What's your approach with Total Commander? It sorts with last access time on NTFS not with creation date.
  19. RivaTuner v2 R14.3NY. 42.51 is the latest driver for modding GF4. 45.21 is the latest driver for modding GFFX. All drivers upto 53.03/53.30 for GF2/3.
  20. I soft modded my GF3 at home and GF4 at work. The good thing about GF3 is the patcher can patch detonator 53.03. So I have Quadro DCC at home with 53.03 and I can use nVidia specific program, PowerDraft, for Autodesk Mechanical Desktop. I've been working with soft modded card for nearly 2 years and the system is always stable.
  21. I've never had an ATI card. Like nVidia, ATI has two different versions: Professional and Gaming boards. As previously discussed in older threads with just a software patch you can mod gaming card to pro. You can check out GURU3D and see if your card moddable to FireGL. If this can be done you'll have a crad that is suited for use with virtually all CAD CAM. Btw, It's a RealView enabled card for SolidWorks 2004.
  22. Sorry I can't help much. But if it's not possible in MC, I have the following suggestion. As I previously said I always use Total Commander and it has a powerful multi rename tools which can rename to uppercase/lowercase/First letter uppercase/First of each word uppercase. It's $30 and full of features. HTH
