  1. Yeah, I have the bug statements set to output, but I didn't wat to make the change in the subroutines if I could change it in the format statements. I'll check it out. Thanks
  2. You need to monitor voltage at your machine. I've seen problems like this before in grounding as well as problems with the actual machine. Contact your dealer or the manufacturer and try to find out what classifies as an overvoltage. The main thing is to find out the triggering on an error like that..your CNC manufacturer will likely have a support tech you can talk to without having to pay for it. I had an overvoltage on a multicam router one time that was caused by a comparator chip going bad. Sometimes with overvoltages you can be talking about a potential between hot and earth instead of hot and reference. Check with the makler of the machine aned then troubleshoot accordingly.
  3. For anyone who is wondering, I took care of this guy by having him generate surfaces from the solids, then I had him offset that, create flowlines and assign a 3-d contour to that. Anyone with this problem feel free to post or e-mail. Thanks again
  4. I need to edit an Analam post to post to the ten-thousanths (.0000) instead of thousanths(.000)on arc moves. Ideas anyone? big Thanks
  5. I'm not sure what it's for, But the design belongs to a customer of ours. He's still on V8 but I still gotta support it. I'll try a wireframe toolpath.
  6. Anybody know the best way to machine this 3-d contour part with only V8 Mill 1 and solids? Thanks,
  7. DC, Actually he specified Hebrew:) Not sure about that software but if he calls back I'll ask. Is there a common issue there? Thanks,
  8. Thanks guys. I believe he's running 0105. Mike, If you wouldn't mind, drop me that file in an e-mail. [email protected] Thanks again.
  9. I got it as well. too bad there's no way to beat it. If he really is in russia and using mastercam illegaly, there are no laws against it in St. Petersburg. The authorities there are not remotely interested in american companies getting their proper funding from their software sales. what a bummer. I certainly don't plan to help him out with anything. Why can't he just be like every other illegal user and get an account on here to ask questions like that. Somebody put the proverbial "smack down" on this malchik... Please.
  10. I have a customer who is using Mcam/create/drafting and is seeing what would almost appear to be a different language in his graphic interface. I think this might be graphics related... Anybody ever seen this? I am currently having him find out if it looks that way in the same file on a different PC. Any Ideas? graphics card is NVIDIA Quattro MVS Thanks
  11. Chris, Maybe you could e-mail me the 2-D geometry and I'll play with it for you in my spare time. [email protected]
  12. Is that Solid Works Course free as well? Thanks,
  13. Major Thanks, peeps. I'll give them each a try. Thanks again Sweet ride ye got there, DC
  14. Is there a way to create a workable MC9 using nothing more than a previously generated NC code? THX in Advance,
  15. Welcome to the Forum! As an employee of a mastercam reseller, one of the first tasks I was assigned was to learn ART extensively. You are correct in thinking that not many people here use it. A great deal of people I have shown it to say they would love to have it, but that most job shops and mold shops simply can't justify the expense. I have used ART a great deal and can probably answer any of your questions. Feel free to e-mail any time. Here are some of the samples I show our clients. Once again, Welcome to the forum and the world of Mastercam, You've come to the right place.
  16. Thanks, Ron. I had only ever considered spindle speed but now that you mention it, the tool diameter would change that. What's this G10? Is this a material I haven't heard of? Thanks
  17. Help Me out here,... I may be an idiot here, but what does sfm stand for? Also, I am not familiar with G10, what's it all about? Aside from that, I really can't afford to burn any of this. it has to be right from the start. Thanks again for the advice. I really appreciate it.
  18. we have a MultiCam here at Eastech, which I have used from its arrival back in december. It's a full sized moving Gantry machine. (MG5000) I haven't had any trouble out of it, and the control is easy to operate and learn. We sell MultiCam for Kentucky and Indiana, but I'm not in sales. I do have to use and fix these machines, though. While I cannot attest to the durability and qualities of other machines, I can suggest that you should at least have someone show you one. I like them a great deal.
  19. (I know this was a while Back) Routerman7030, Do you by any chance remember those feeds and speeds you were using? I have to cut some parts out of Richlite and I have no Idea what speeds to use. Furthermore, I don't have enough spare stock to mess up. I'd appreciate any advice you guys can offer. Onsrud cutter offers a special tool for phenolic materials that are supposedly a lot quieter than standard carbide mills. It's also got a heavy chipbreaker finish that is supposed to really hog the stuff out. My problem is that I can't find anyone who has cut 3/4" richlite and can recommend speeds. Thanks in Advance,
  20. Steve, How many of these toolpaths are you using? I have a toolpath started but would like to get a few of these other toolpaths out of the way. are there any you are not currently using? Thanks,
  21. Anybody know the lastest version 8 available from mastercam? was it version 8.1.1? Replies appreciated, Thanks,
  22. Cancel That..... I found it. Microsoft intellitype keyboard. Gotta love it. Switched keyboards and no problem.
  23. I am having some trouble with 2 new PC's.. Each one has installed an NVIDIA GeForce FX5500 video card.. All graphics are working fine but when I press F9 my origin does not show up. I know the function keys work, as f1(zoom window) works. I checked the system colors and my background is black with my origin at the default (brown) Any Ideas? Thanks
  24. Thanks for the help guys, I ended up having him rotate the tool plane 90 degrees, everything seems to work fine. I did a sample posting, everything seems to be working now. These machines are apparently pretty common. Thanks again
  25. sounds like fun. this is a more common thing we've seen. mostly we see it with bridge machines. I ended up having him rotate his tool plane about the origin. seems to work fine. Thanks for the help,
