Hey everybody, how do we define odd shape stock boundries for MC lathe. I run some weldments with deep undercuts and flanges in the middle of a part. Shapes a rectangle does not define very well.
Thanks,
Patrick
I am currently running 1" 8unc tap 1 1/2 deep in 1045 steel. 100 rpm, trim tap heavy fluid. tension/compression holder. Blind hole .5 deeper than needed for chips. Using Tin coated hand tap.
My boss will not buy spiral flute taps for blind holes. This is a repeat job, i have zero problems tapping. running on a Mori MV55.
I would like to know if mastercam will post a G306 inside circle cutting routine. I have 12 holes that i need to interpolate 4 o-ring grooves in each. MC will do fine with G2 G3 but the program is 7 pages long i need to shorten it. Help! and Thank!
if surface finish allows i would double you feed rate. your current .0015 fpt is not alot. Have you looked for TiN coated cutters?. This will increase your tool life and cost. I would expect at least
2 to 3 time the tool life with a coated cutter.
Yesterday i asked my company to but a new pc so we can implement X. Currently were are using v9. any advice? and have previous mc upgrades been this difficult?
