  1. I thread milled a 00-90 on some plastic... that carbon plastic all the new military stuff is molded from....
  2. Title says it all. I want the little WCS origin marker off for some screen shots. Thanks David
  3. I am trying to transform my toolpath to another offset. If I have toolpaths with 2 offsets, can I transform them in one operation? Example, I have P1 and P2 programmed and want use transform to also run it on P3 and P4. Can someone explain an easy way to do that? Thanks
  4. Thats a possibility, and would make sense, since they are all of my older files....
  5. Are they going to try paying you with IOU's out there?
  6. So, to those who haven't noticed, if in Vista you choose "Extra Large Icons" for your icon size, you get a preview of the file as an icon, so you can just preview all the files to find one you are looking for. Is there any way to make it do all MCX files like that? It seems to be only the the more recent ones. Thanks
  7. You could just unscrew the lock from the door....
  8. How do I get the "Tool Settings" area of my machine properties to be diffrent? I have several machine definitions and on my horizontal, I want different settings than on my verticals. When I change it for my horizontal and then load a vertical definition its changed to how I set the horizontal. If I change it back in the vertical then it changes the horizontal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks David
  9. How I do it is with a question. What machine are you posting for? 1 for bla,2 for bla,3 for bla. I kind of sequence my machines from basic to complex. Then I have 'if then', or 'if else' questions where there are differences. code: if machine > 0, n$, t$, "M6", "(", *strtool$, ")",e$ else, [n$, t$, e$ n$, "M6", "(", *strtool$, ")",e$ n$, next_tool$, e$] Something like that. You could do that for most of it.
  10. 10 years ago I ran a Mori Seiki SH-50 3 machine pallet pull. I vaguely remember how it functioned. I was just an operator back then. Anyways, when a pallet would get sent to a machine, it would download the program to the machine at that time. There were lines at the beginning of the program that when read would change the offsets in the machine. If you had to make an adjustment for an offset (say you had to shift X .003 for P3) you would change the it at the beginning of the program. Long story short, How would you do that?
  11. How would a ramp contour tool path work? The bottom of the slot is not flat. It tapers from the surface down 1.7"? I have never done something like that. Can you show an example? Thanks
  12. Since pictures are easier to see Its .156 wide and 1.7" deep at the deepest. I only have Mill level 1 and Solids available. I don't know if I have a pocket tool path available that I can select the insides of the solid or something like that. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks
  13. We have 2 V40's and 3 V30's. Just remember that they are $50-60K machines and don't expect million dollar performance out of them. They are fine for what most people do with them. The same for the LTC-20B. Ours is 15+ years old, but its accurate for us (.0005 tolerance parts still run on it) and consistent.
  14. For some reason the Cimco that comes with X3 is not the same and I can't go back to the old one. There are a lot of quarks that I don't like about it. Couple for instances: If you open a NC file and want to receive the program from the machine( say some feed rates got changed at the machine and you want to save them or something like that). In the old Cimco you would select Transmission -> Receive into current window. When you do that now, it receives the program, but when you actually look at the program, its not updated. It just looses the program you received. Also, if you edit something and send it to the machine, it doesn't automatically save it. You have to manually save it now.
  15. I'm going to the Dallas one at MLC.
  16. Sounds to me like that was a band-aid and you really need to go in and check all your tool planes and WCS positions to make sure they match.
  17. I noticed that it was listed as optional. I am now wondering if its not turned on in our control.
  18. I can program a G60 on the position lines for a boring bar cycle, but it doesn't seem to do anything special. From the descriptions on the forum, its suppose to position off center and then move on center of the hole from the same direction every time. It just seems to go to the hole without going off center first.
  19. G60 does not appear to be working. Is there a parameter to turn it on or set the distances or something? Thanks David
  20. I have a casting. I need to mill an edge around the whole part. I was told by my reseller to use rotary substitution. Well, I got the tool path looking properly in the static position on the screen. Problem is when I actually backplot it, it is rotated 90 degrees. It almost seems like its using the world home and not the WCS home. Does anyone know what is the problem? Thanks David
  21. Say if I post it out and add a bar puller to the end of the program and then want to send it to the machine. When I had the Cimco V4 it would then save when I sent it to the machine.
  22. I have played around with all the settings I can find and I still can't get it to automatically save when I send a file.
  23. Ok, so I turned my computer on this morning and...nothing hard drive failed. So we used the opportunity to upgrade computers and I got a new computer today. Well, we had been using the Cimco 4ish. I got the Cimco 5 sending and receiving, but is doesn't automatically save when I send. Does anyone know if there is a way to make it save when I send a file? The Cimco 4 did. Thanks
