  1. I think our IT people are building this one, so I don't think there should be a problem with miss matched components. Thanks.
  2. This is what I think it will go like........... My look------- The boss's look! Just kidding............he might go for it.
  3. What are your thoughts on this build? Be running Mastercam and Solidworks on it. (Latest versions).
  4. I forgot how you check what's on the SIM in Mastercam. I'm trying to see if probing is on my current seat.
  5. I just found this video on how to drag and drop operations!!!! https://cimquest-inc.com/dragndrop-operations-import-mastercam-2017/ Now I'm going to try it!!!!
  6. Thanks! That worked! You have to have it checked when exporting, and also in the importing!
  7. I had this problem yesterday when exporting/importing. The exporting part has 3 drills 5/16" diameter. One is a carbide stub drill, one is a carbide 25X drill, and one is a HSS 25X drill. When I imported all 3 tool paths had the stub drill. As you can see from the attached .jpg's all the drills had different tool numbers/names in the exporting file, but changed in the importing file to (tool 4 stub drill). WTH??
  8. That's what I do. (export, import). Someone should chime in, and show how to do this!!
  9. I just tried dragging an op from one screen of a different part to my second screen, and that doesn't work. So, how do you drag ops??
  10. Just order one set of metric, one set of Fractional (Fowler brand) from Amazon, for my tool box! Thanks!! They should come in handy......
  11. I'm one of those "old timers" who's adapted..........
  12. "Chamfers/deburr/blends always spot on too". I never considered this. Thanks!!
  13. I agree. Where can you get balls in different sizes? (I would need one between .118"-.139"). Groove depth/width control what size. I also have parts with other dimensions. We're looking into this. We've not been able to see a price yet. (I'm the operator/programmer, so I don't have to trust anyone else.)
  14. ^^Don't have one.^^ So, when I send a part out the door to a customer, I don't like it coming back, because I didn't / couldn't measure it. I think tool pressure is also something to consider....Just saying.. Welcome to the Forum!! And thanks for your replies!!
  15. Are you familiar with lathe programming? I'm using a grooving tool for cutting the groove, and a boring bar for the bore. A grooving tool is not designed for boring. IMHO. ^^^^AND THIS^^^^
  16. I have never measured them with anything PRECISION! LOL!!!!
  17. This is what I'm currently using. We're missing some of the tips, and I think it's kind of "hokey"
  18. I don't think that's accurate enough for this... (+.001")
  19. We already have those. Looking for something to measure the diameter of the groove.
  20. I've been getting parts lately that have inside grooves with somewhat tight tolerances. What measuring device do you recommend for this? I'm looking for something with the broadest range, somewhere around, 1"-2.5" (interchangeable tips maybe), at an ECONOMICAL PRICE , and easy to use. What does your shop use? What brand, etc.
