  1. Instead of asking Bala to prove himself, let's list what we can reasonably assume about him and let him prove us wrong. Bala, I'm guessing you have an illegal copy of Mastercam or work with someone who does. If that is true, then you are a Thief and you bring Shame on your name, Shame on your friends, and Shame on your ancestors. The only other valid reason would be if you are learning it in school. If that is the case, then just tell use the name of the school and class you are taking. If I'm wrong, then prove it and I will kindly apologise and offer you some assistance. The members of this forum will bend over backwards to help legitimate customers. I did not mean to start making fun of you until you jumped in here and asked the forum members to do something for you for free without any of us knowing you. That would be like walking into a store and expecting to be able to just take something off the shelves. Show us all a little class and respect if you have any.
  2. This forum helps develop the ninja like finger speed you need in here. Glad to help.
  3. I've made a few parts from lead. Very gummy stuff. The most danger involves handling the lead with bare skin. It shouldn't produce too many vapors, if any, so I wouldn't be too concerned about breathing it. The only worries I would have besides touching it would be contaminating your coolant supply and clean up/disposal of the waste coolant, chips, cutting tools, ect. If I remember right we used HHS cutters and ran them fairly slow. Lead has a tendency to smear and gum up rather than cut. Check out the Machinery's Handbook for more info. 4. This guy doesn't know when to quit. Bala, I wish you had a better grasp of the english language so you could truely understand our comments and know what we are saying to you. Look up the word colloquial in an *insert bala's native tongue here*-to-English dictionary. You might learn something.
  5. Ditto James, Ditto Well, enough fun for tonight. We shall resume the brutalization tomorrow.
  6. I'm not sure this guy will understand capiche... Maybe you should run a trace and we can translate it into this guy's native language...
  7. Right there with ya James... How long do you think we can keep this guy going?
  8. Bruce, We run a NetHasp here with Zero problems. There were some printing problems when X was first released. As of MR2, no problems. You need to have at least 3 seats to get a NetHasp. The NetHasp can be installed on any computer and that computer becomes the NetHasp server. Think of it like a library. When ever someone wants to run Mastercam they double click on the icon and their computer goes over the network and checks out a Mastercam license. You can only check out as many licenses as you have bought, but you can install and run Mastercam on ANY computer in the company as long as there is a license available for check out. So if you had say 5 licenses and they were all in use, if you tried to run Mastercam on a 6th computer then you would get a message that there are no licenses available.
  9. Bob, The short answer is "sort of". You can not just take two seperate Mastercam files, merge them together, and spit out code. When you merge files together, the toolpaths do not come in. You could do a Merge, then import and regenerate the toolpaths in the new file. The other way you could do it would be to have both parts (parts, fixtures, ect.) programmed in one Mastercam X part file with different Machine Groups (I know that they are on the same machine, but it simplifies things if you use two machine groups in the ops manager). That way if you only wanted to post out one of the programs you could change the NC file name and post it out as a single part program. Then if you wanted the dual fixture program, change the NC file name, do a "Sort" by tool # (BE CAREFUL IF YOU DO THIS) so that each tool runs on both fixtures before being changed. 10. Hello, bala_51083 has sent you the following message through eMastercam.com Forums: -------------------- The part i want a program is simple ppl say.can i send the file to you please.if u can help me i will be nice -------------------- You can reply to this email using this address: [email protected]
  11. Camgeneration, If you want the side bar menu, look at MasterShake's thread for AI utility Chooks. He has a Chook that creates a V9 style Side bar menu. Do a search for the thread. Colin Gilchrist The Boeing Company MR2 and Beta test site
  12. Randy, If you use the power keys option, the pick box becomes unnecessary because you just grab the closest entity point you want to select. If you press "E" on the keyboard you will be selecting the endpoint you click closest too. Press "M" you will get the midpoint, Press "C" the center of an arc, ect. Just look at which entity auto-highlights. Not really an answer to your question, but its another way to use the selection functionality in Mastercam. 13. Maybe we could come by and setup your machine and make parts for you for free as well.
  14. Hi Lou, I've got some suggestions to make this process really simple. Start by creating the plane that you want to move "From" as an actual plane. I use the Planes-Geometry or Planes-Solid face to create this plane. By using the Planes button it makes it really easy to create the plane you need. If there is only a solid, I usually create two lines, either manually with create-line-endpoint, or with create-curve-one edge. I greatly prefer to use two lines because the first line you pick will be your X positive direction and the second line creates Y positive. Using the "Solid Face" option is hit or miss because sometimes the axis direction lines will not be parallel to the edge you want. As soon as you select the second line you will get a Select View dialog box with the option to toggle between the different possible views that Mastercam could create. Press the green check box on the one you want to use. Mastercam will now bring up the New View dialog box. I usually stick with the default name "New View (8)", BUT, I make sure I turn off the check box for "Set new origin" (I'll tell you why in a sec.). The reason I create the "From" plane first is that it makes the 3D translation a snap. Using the Planes-Geometry method automatically sets your current construction plane to this newly created Cplane. Now, select the geometry you want to move between views. Choose the Xform-Translate 3D command and Mastercam will bring up the Tranlate 3D dialog box. In the "Views" area click on the first button in the planes list (Source View). Mastercam will bring up the View Selection dialog box with the current Cplane already highlighted in the view list. Just press the green check box. Now Mastercam will ask you for the point to translate from. Select the point on the model that you want to move from( I am assuming in this example that you want to move from "Plane" space back to the system Top plane). Now Mastercam will prompt you to select the destination plane. Click on top and then press the "OK" button. Now mastercam will prompt you for the "point to translate to". I press "O" on the keyboard or use the Autocursor override drop down menu and select "Origin". This is the reason that I recommended turning off the "Set new origin" check box. If you have a Cplane active that has a custom origin, you can not reference the System Origin when picking your "To" point. Lots of our programmers were having trouble with using the Transform 3D option until I showed them this proceedure. Let me know if you have any questions about it. Once you get the hang of it, it makes the process really easy. HTH, Colin Gilchrist The Boeing Company MR2 and Beta test site
  15. The only comment I would make is that the Processor does not have Hyper Threading available. Mastercam does not currently use hyper threading, but it may at some point in the future. Why Intel would use a dual core (multiple threaded core) without HT is a bit confusing. Are you saying Non-HT meaning that you are ordering it with Hyper Threading turned off in the system BIOS? If so, that would be ok because you can turn it back on in the future. Is it a laptop? 1.86 Ghz seems a little slow. I would try and push closer to 3.0 Ghz if you can afford it. Otherwise it looks like a good system. Good video card and the 2MB cache should be good. HTH, Colin Gilchrist The Boeing Company MR2 and Beta test site
