  1. We did a webinar on using 5x toolpaths for 3x applications recently. Should be helpful for some of the discussion here.
  2. Full Comparo of all the new Cards: http://www.nvidia.com/docs/IO/11761/Product-Comparison-Oct2010.pdf We tested the new 2000 on the benchmark file last week and got 11min flat verify on this PC: Intel W3503, Xeon Dual Core, 2.4 Ghz, 1333 Mhz FSB, 4MB L2 Cache w. 4GB of RAM. Similar to our time with an FX3800 but it uses less power (62w vs 108w). Temps seemed fine after the test as well, but I didn't log them. Seems the Fermi heat issues are more on GeForce cards.
  3. Fonts seem a bit small, but I love the move to a more modern forum software. Hopefully it will help increase traffic.
  4. What I've gathered if others have this issue: 1. When installing a USB hub, it seems people are having luck if you reboot the server after installing the hub and moving the dongle. 2. Download the Aladdin Diagnostix here: ftp://ftp.aladdin.com/pub/hasp/new_releas...Diagnostics.zip . Which allows you to 'hardcode' the server IP and aid in the client finding the nethasp. 3. Make sure the USB hub is self powered. (Which I think you said your's is Ted) 4. Install the latest drivers for the Nethasp may also fix the problem. Link: ftp://ftp.aladdin.com/pub/hasp/new_releas...river_setup.zip Make sure the nethasp is unplugged when installing drivers and a reboot also helps.
  5. As Mark said, if you have steep walls, surface finish blend is the bees knees.
  6. My verify was very dark, but not black. I went to shade settings and then my spot light settings. Turned on the TOP RIGHT light to 100% intensity as a light bulb and now it's the same brightness it was in regular X4 without affecting the way the model looked before I went into verify.
  7. Drop the X name (so 2004) and call it Mastercam 14. Mill/Turn w/ full Syncing. FBM for simple lathe stuff.
  8. It's reading the same NCI as Mastercam verify. But if your post is correct and proven then WYSIWYG in machine sim. The systems that read actual G code for verification are very pricey. So it's basically how much do you want to pay for piece of mind? and MachSim is a free chook.
  9. Talk to Dave @ ShopWare. He does all the Machine Sim there. He can give you a quick rundown of how to get it going.
  10. Try running the newest Hasp Drivers from Aladdin while in the Windows portion of parallels. Worked for me on my home Mac. Edit: After looking at the other thread, I have an older Macbook. From that other thread: It seems that some of the hardware architecture with regards to the USB Port have changed slightly..... and as a result the Alladdin Device will not properly see recognise the HASP even though the Hardware is seen on the Parallels side. Solution... we went back to the older version still available in the 17" Mac Book Pro....
  11. Get rid of all the 'toolbars' The text pull downs at the top are exactly like v9. Also with every X,x2,x3 install there is a V9 to X(n) PDF that have every function in V9 in alphabetical order, then the name and location of that function in X. Print it out and keep it by your desk.
  12. Lifelike models from what? Are you using Ras2Vec? Think we need some more clarification in order to help you...
  13. Just tried this with a few files by right clicking the levels, left clicking, and hitting the green check back out, No crashes. Maybe it's something going on with your computer.
  14. * "Invalid SIM found, error code 2": Cause: Hasp95.vxd & Hasp95DL.vxd found in either the "windows/system" or "windows/system32" folder. Solution: Rename or move these files to another location. Note: These two files are commonly used to crack or bypass SIMs but are also legitimately used by some software packages. This was taken from our SIM install guide. Hope that helps.
  15. FYI If you DO NOT use the migration utility and do a clean install of X2 your standard contour will be set to oscillate. Please note this before posting and running a contour toolpath to prevent any mishaps. If you do use the migration utility everything is the same defaults as original X2. Our website will have a reworked mill_inch.defaults by tomorrow if anyone wishes to download it. www.shopwareinc.com
