  1. just a bump for the boys that are not on holidays tomorrow...pls help
  2. i wont be able to dig up my haas post till tuesday john...that goes G125 P1 after you run out of offsets from G110 to G125
  3. that would definately simplify the matter...sorry bad joke
  4. havent seen that one in X yet John most of my .stl i use on X are for 3D and maybe some 2 axis stuff ...eveytime i try to get into 4th and 5 axis on X i get into trouble somehow and revert back to 9 ..(thinking out loud)God i wish my boss would send me for training!!
  5. kinda late in the evening to be policing your sticky isnt Thad? jk
  6. yes sadly enough im getting the same thing with X when i bring it in from v9...when i try to reprogram from scratch i get a disasterous result that is nothing like what i need in version X...the program is on the ftp site called lolly2 zip in the mc9 folder...i followed the example you gave me to a tee jay and sadly its not cutting where i want it to cut you will find in a previous post about 5 days ago called post problem and im not sure what its doing ...when i try to cut that back wall of the part it just cuts air and the clips the part as you will see in the verify in version X...is there another way i can cut this?
  7. well that was a nice thought but sadly no joy
  8. roflmao ...yep that might be the ticket....
  9. hi all ...Been trying to do an undercut with a lollypop cutter ...the posting is working great thanks to Dave Thompson....but now im not sure what to trust here ...i backplotted this using normal back plot and then simulate 4 axis and got 2 different results.....which one do i trust? the good the bad or the ugly?
  10. depends on how much you have to cut...we use shell mills 3 inches in dia for styrofoam ...high shear and air to blow away the swarf as it will clog up fast at 1100 rpm and 3 inches deep
  11. goes as far as the data directory and that is it
  12. if that will work that would be great Dave...showed the boss the last program that jay sent to me and he loved the idea so much we went out to seco and bought the lolly pop cutter for the job...now its crunch time and sadly there isnt anytime to fix up any possible mistakes on this job so it has to be done right the first time...good luck and please let me know thanks!!!!!!
  13. well if you are ..let me know cause its happening all the time for me as well ... i made the mistake of grabbing the wrong stl in the first place for this one program ....and i have to load up the new stl all the time when i go to verify it
  14. John ...your supposed to be on vacation....or are you starting your own practice for us traumatized souls on here?...jk
  15. ok ...if i may be so bold as to inquire ...how do i incorperate a lead in and lead out that will hold the z at a level above the part and then index it to the location for cutting?
  16. but im still trying to find the X icon on my desktop!!!!...jk
  17. yes...is this new version X2 considered an upgrade from XMR2?...or is it a whole new package?
  18. wonder if this is covered somewhat under our maintinance contract?
  19. i was able to get the file on the ftp site this morning so if anybody wants to take a peek ...your welcome to as i am hoping that maybe i can get some input in either X or ver9 if this can be done like this ...i have programmed them both like this but X wont give me the same result im looking for ....am i missing something?
  20. lol john....exactly...when it works...even if you have a higher mill level sometimes the processing time can be a factor as well
  21. you may have to look at getting the part to a router if it needs trimming...there is also a website you might want to check out where i used to work as the mould tech and designer in Brisbane http://www.egrgroup.com were i tooled them up with ali moulds and designs as they were in their infancy for large procution runs of over 10,000 parts and the wood moulds were not holding up for very long and recutting the same pattern 10 times for a part was getting expensive
