Oh you've worked with those guys too??? ha ha Half if it is that & one guy will purposely change things (on a 2nd or more times running of a job, in a great running program that's been saved back), just to waste time so he doesn't have to setup up too many jobs. Then he try's to brag about how many things he "had" to change to make the oprogram run or run better. Don't know why he hasn't been fired yet, but that's managments call.
I do have arcs set to Don't break Arcs in the Control Def setting. Maybe that does it. We like to swing them in one line. Makes it easy for the setup guy on the floor to make small changes & doesn't waste 30 minutes trying to figure thigs out.
Oops, old habit mostly. Keep forgetting that there's a nice Circle Mill button now.
But this doesn't explain the error using contour. Must be a bug.
Thanks
Why can't a hole be countoured on any quadrant except the one at the 3 o'clock position (start & end points of the hole creation) ?
Doesn't matter is you use cutter comp or not, I always get a Citter Comp Not Successful error.
Right-click your geometry. Right click your chain then click Start Point, then click the Dynamic Start/End button & select another quadrant.
If you select anywhere else then it will work but never on the other 3 quadrants.
I had this approach plane R- value working in an old post but now the X2 post is a lot different & I don't know where to put it or what variables it needs. (don't know much about posts)
It was set under the Drill Custom Paramteres tab. I'm trying to figure it out now.
In the Windows Control Panel I have a Mastercam X icon that I double click but get an "Error - 'LasetInstalledVersion' key is missing. Running the mouse over it brings up the description "Changes properties for Mastercam X".
I have X2 installed & recently uninstalled X & X-MR2. Is this file necessary? If it's not part of X2 why is it still installed when I did an uninstall???
I did the X2 SP1 update thru Mastercam. Before I updated it I wanted to finish a job I was working on. I tried opening Mastercam X2 but got a NO SIM error. I did the update & got the same error. I went to the NetHasp utility to re-read the NetHasp but that didn't work either. Now what?
X2
Ok, I've been read about graphic cards & CPU's & RAM to speed up graphic slowdowns but none of this really pertained to the Verify using STL as stock. I've got a 32 meg STL file & need the .001 to .002 tolerance setting (Tool =.005) for accuracy. Someone else complained about how slow this is & he was using a Quadro card. I don't have a Quadro card. I have an ATI Radeon 9200 and I'm afraid to spend the money on a high end card if it won't help If these high end workstation cards don't help then what will?
Which editor? Chekc the properties for all the files that your edotir uses & make sure "Read Only" is unchecked.
Check for an .ini file & see if you can read this with Notepad or Wordpad. Look for something about position. It may not have that owrd, just some X Y coordinates.
Hope this helps
Also trying to avoid all that time/work deleting extra co-linear lines, & trimming/extending the geometry. I haven't tried the filter yet. On another job right now. Will let you know.
Thanks
