In response to Aaron Eberhard - CNC Software about tools...... I haven't gotten an error ... yet... but, I just installed (for the 2nd time) X7. I used Update Folder to update my tools to version 7 but all it does it bring in version 6 with file names like -6.tooldb. Why??? What version are these files??? This is only one of the continuing problems since X? that has never been fixed.
Screen saver is not really needed here & has been disabled, but what about other places where security is a concern (spiteful employees, etc) ? Besides, it's still sloppy programming & needs to be fixed.
I'm having a problem with the screen saver also. If I have clicked the Depth button,(or any button which requires me to click a point on the part), but have to get away from my desk & the screen saver kicks in, the routine gets lost. The Operations Manager rollover button don't highlight or work anymore & when I try to close Mastercam, it says, "You cannot close the application while a task is active".

"..it all comes out the same at the end of the year."
Yep, but some can't wait till the end of the year to get a big check from the Feds so the weekly take hom is more... when you need it week to week. But I'm salary so it doesn't work that way for me.
I noticed that if I activate Depth Cuts/Subprogram, click Absolute than the blue Apply then the green Check buttons, It will revert back to Incremental for the subprogram. If it's Absolute & then click Incremental then the Apply & OK buttons, it will revert back to Absolute. It will not keep the selection if using the Aplly button. But if you skip the blue Apply button & just check the green OK button, it will keep the selection. Anyone else see this?
Macros in X2 are based on a positon on your screen. This makes macros almost useless - shareing them is unlikly to work and the macro will not work again on your own computer if you move your mastercam window on your screen. Is there any way to change the macro system to be more "object" oriented? We have some macros in v8 that automates a drawing based on some corner variables than we cant get to work in x2.
Cool, got it. It works. Thanks
What I don't understand is how it logically processes the postblocks. If it branches out, Does it come back to continue? If not, how does it know where to go next?
OK, I figured out why my customized postblocks were not being called & now it works but is there any way to not make it post the G80 when using drill cycle #9?
First, can anyone explain this debug info to me? I can figure out that the posted line was performed by the module printed at the beginning of the debug ivo but can't figure out what the other stuff means. Here's an example...

I'm trying to use drill cycle #9 (which starts the custom drill cycle area drop down list, 9th position) to not output any drill cycle but only to position X & Y but I can't get the post to go to the module I copied & pasted as a new name.
I was told by my Mastercam reseller/instructor that 99% of the time to not change the values for the TOP, for the 4th & 5th axis jobs. Leave them at zero for ORIGIN & change the C & T planes as needed. He said I would have less problems. So far it's working but I don't have much experience in 4th & 5th. Does anyone have any luck doing it different?
I have WinXP Pro. Graphics set for performance. All that fancy stuff is off. I do have admin permissions on mine & the RDP computer. All updated by IT (they are pretty good keeping up with that). True network (2003 server, Active Directory) but RDP connects directly with the computer. The server doesn't do anything in this regard. 2 gig memory. Dont' believe it's a server issue. The 2 other programmers have similar problem also & whenever something changes it's always Mastercam. It's never another app. Thanks for the heads up for qc(at)mastercam(dot)com. I'll try that next.
One of the other instances I was speaking of is when changing posts thru the Operation Manager or from the top pull down menu, something doesn't get updated correctly & when we post, all the g90 G56 (or G91 G56) lines do not show the G56 (or G57, etc), but if you go to Misc Values & click one or both of the buttons near the bottom & repost, it's correct. Our reseller looked thru our posts. Said it's good.
whow, relax pal. It's just another bug. I post them every now & then to alert the Mcam app programmers 'cause I know they are online here & read these. No need to get all huffy.
The problem reading online post, emails, etc., is that the reader interprets the emotions incorrectly. Take notice that no expletives were used or exclamations, capitals, bold text & others & the graemlins on the site are used for fun.
