I am trying to peck long hand. when they changed my computers it stopped working. I am using X2 Mr1 is this due to a setting or something? It works fine on one Machine/ post and this one it doesn't now. Thank you
I have Vista premium on my personal laptop (XPS 1530) I Don't use it that much for Mastercam. It will work but I don't recomend it. My XPS is NOT my Mastercam laptop. I do some Lathe work on it though. I am running an Intel core 2 duo 2.4ghz and 4 gig of ram.
Is there any way to draw threads on a part? I know, I know, there is no real reason for me to draw them. The guy I work with asked me. I told him no. Then he proceeded to tell me about how great autocad is
We use pro e wildfire 2.0 and I don't have to many problems. I import as trimed surfaces. Then do a curve slice I only do lathe work. It has a lot to do with who makes the part in pro e. Some of our guys do it different because a handful of people always have bad pro e parts when i import them.
??? doesn't this happen to everyone? If you copy you have to double check if you change anything involving a toolpath or tool you have to go back and double check everything. Doesn,t it work like that in mill? We use delcam for our machine centers I have never tried doing anything in just mill.
I agree the only thing we have MC for is Lathe work and when I went to training and asked about canned cycles 3 years ago my instructor said it's better not to do canned cycles they just don't work well. So we pay maintenece and every time we get a new release I hear canned cycles will be fixed until it comes out and they still don't work.
I just got an XPS 1530 last week. It has the 2.4 cpu 4gb ram. 7200 rpm hd most of the bells and whistles. It is a very nice computer for playing Crysis battlefield 2142 and other games. It is an ok Mastercam computer though. It does have some issues. I would go toward a refurb M60.
We have a studer s40 I have been working on a post for it for a while now. The grinding guys don't like the idea of using Mcam and I have no experince in grinding. It would work very well for cams and out of round. I have got a few things done with lathe but I am sure with the right people you can make it work smoothly.
I have made a custom tool for the first time. I can not get it to work. I get an Invalid tool geometry error. I have put the tool file in MCX2 Files under 338369 Tool. I have been trying to do a grind relief cut on X2 MR1 Lathe. I read all the tips for creating tools and I don't know why this tool won't work. Thank you in advance.
I did a C-axis contour multipasses axis substitution. I had to UNcheck keep tool down for it to work better. I don't know if thats what you are looking for.
I have done trochoidal pathes on the lathe. When you are in Lathe pull down toolpathes and choose the mill toolpath you want. The mplmaster post should work alright.
I got it changed around to work for me. It looks like this.
