    Iges viewer

I tried the pro-e lite and CadCam is correct. BerTau, I think you have the best solution. Mark, what do you think about draft demo? Andy
  2. We are looking for an iges viewer that our customers can use to view our proposals on their own computers. Does anyone know of a free or cheap one. Would probably need dynamic rotation capabilities. Thanks, Andy
  3. Roy, Yes, I did get the regen message. And I regererated. But, I found the problem. I assumed the radius hadn't changed but it had. So the associativity is working! Here is why I (dumb) missed it. I had named the tool "35deg turning .031R" and, of course, changing the r to .015 DID NOT change the name of the tool. Duuuuuuh. So when I was in OP MGR it still said .031R as is should. If I wasn't so old I would be embarrassed. Thanks much, Andy
  4. Roy, Yes, I did all that and analyze showed me the correct selected radius (.015). However, when I return to the Op manager the tool is still r.031. So, for some reason it does not change it.
  5. Ok, I have a turning tool .031 Nose radius programmed. I change the nose to .015 and it does not change. I attempted to change it in three places. 1. ops menu 2. Job su tools 3. ops/parameters tool edit. No worky. The only way I could change it was to pick a new tool (.015R) in ops/parameters/tool. Is this correct? Andy
  6. For any users out there using a pirated copy of MC and are having trouble getting it to work I would suggest one thing that always works well. 1. Go to your DOS window. 2. Type in "Format C:" 3. Press enter. 4. If it asks "are you sure?" Press "y" and press enter. At this point your MC should work as it should and you wont have to bother the dealer.
  7. Looks like the customer has a budget problem. I wont do this job for 2 months. Then I will report it. Thanks, Andy
  8. Thanks fellas, I am going to have to do this job on the fadal, no punch press. They will drill .125 deep through. I am going to spot the start point with a center drill. Interesting about the fluid to use. I also considered drilling about 1/3 the depth in the fadal then by hand in my sensitive drill press so that I know when the drill is getting dull. Ok, Thank you so much. Andy
  9. Hi all, I just got a job for some parts made from 304. There 300 .040 holes .075 deep (thru). Plus misc milling. So, I have a Fadal 5000 rpm. What is the common drill to use and any feed speed suggestions. Thanks, Andy

Dont let emotions and ego interfere with learning. Humility, patience and discipline will succeed. Trust your abilities, ignore insults show respect to all. If you really work at it, you can make the aholes like you. Get paid, its tough work! If your really lucky, like me, you love the trade.
  11. I have a customer that makes niobium and titanium earring dangles. I make them dies and have occasionally machined it. The niobium seems softer than ti. Thats all I know! Andy
  12. Hi Smit, Yes, I unselected sequential tool # choice. Here is what I did today. I created a tapping cycle in A.mc8 I then started a new file B.mc8 I job setup/imported the operation from file A.mc8 It came in with the correct tool and # However it came in as a DRILL/COUNTERBORE operation (G81) and that is how I broke a Tap!!!!! Now Why did that happen? Frustrated!!
  13. n_tydingco Yes, Ops menu empty, tools list empty. When I save ops op8 and retrieve them in a new job it comes in perfect. It is only when I do Job SU/import do I notice this problem. I dont do this real often so am not sure it always screws up. Thanks, Andy
  14. Kevin, When I do that it still brings some things right and some things wrong. Like I just did it and there came a .484 Drill that was not in the mc8 ??? Andy
  15. In job setup when I use IMPORT and highlight tools and operations from a known mc8 job the tools come in with different numbers and different tools. (I uncheck assign #s sequentially) Some of the tools are the correct. Some are totally new but that were not used in that mc8 file. And then there are duplicate tool #s It seems to be totally unpredictable. Any Ideas? v8 [ 06-24-2002, 10:23 PM: Message edited by: Andy ]

    spam

I get 30-40 spam emails EVERY DAY. I mass delete them. But I am quite sure none are because of this forum. Good luck
  17. He needs to use an older driver to fix this problem. Jay, I used one off your ftp 8 months ago and it worked. [ 06-13-2002, 05:25 PM: Message edited by: Andy ]
  18. Roger, Thank you, very helpful. Andy
  19. 1. How do I make a .txt file to go with my post. I use my edited Mori.pst post and there is no mori.txt file with it. However there is a mplfan.txt which is probably the one that is loading. I discovered this when I tried to modify the misc values text and realized that the .txt file was what I needed to edit. Should I just copy the mplfan.txt to mori.txt and go from there? 2. I also discovered that I do NOT have a file called lathe8.prm as the screen/config/nc parameter file: claims I should have. What is that? Thanks, Andy
  20. Ok you all, I worked on the post and with a misc int test and a pbarpull section created I was able to get the output I wanted. I can now put in the grab point and pull distance and tool# etc in the misc values section when I do cutoff and it posts as I want. Of course the machine hasn't seen the code yet so I imagine I will have to tweak it unless I get lucky. Thank you all, Andy
  21. Hey East- tech, Where exactly are the components files? Andy
  22. n_tydingco Thank you, I printed your code and it looks to be very helpful, Now I just need to edit the post as I have time. ANdy
  23. Thanks James, I totally understand and Im on it. Wish me luck and intelligence. Andy
