  1. Peon, Mastercam has a constant scallop toolpath similar to pro-man. It works pretty good.
  2. Gilberto, I did what told me and it worked. Thanks, Wayne.
  3. I have mold plus installed, but I can't seem to get my distributor to send the codes, Should I uninstall it?
  4. Hi Everyone, When I try measure in verify in X3 and X3 MU1 it says the operation isn't supported , then it crashes every time. Is anyone else seeing this? Thanks.
  5. Thanks Guys, I think I'll dive into it again Monday. Have a good weekend.
  6. Rick, I read the online instructions. It says when I launch it, there should be a prompt for my codes but I'm not getting that. It just wants an xml license file. I e-mailed my distibutor, maybe they need to send me the file.
  7. By the way, I don't have a net hasp. Maybe I just screwed something up. It wouldn't be the first time...Today.
  8. Robert, I can't seem to find the Moldserv Manager. Thad, I tried to launch both ways, it pretty much does the same.
  9. Hi Guys, I just installed Moldplus, but when I go to launch it It wants an .xml license file, but I can't seem to find it. I end up with a warning LIC_HASP_LIC_FILE_NOT_FOUND. I know where I installed the Mcam Hasp but it's not an .xml file . Thanks for any help, Wayne
  10. Roger, Your suggestion worked great! Thanks.
  11. All 3 foundries I've worked at use 1.01042 for regular grey iron. Ductile iron varies from foundry to foundry.
  12. Thanks Roger, I'll give it a try tomorrow.
  13. Yep, They say there X2 files. Thet just won't open in X2.
  14. Hi guys, I'm having some trouble opening X2 files by just clicking on them. It wants to open in an old version. I tried to do the "open with" thing that windows has but it won't stick. I can't uninstall the old version because the other guy I work with won't use X2 so I'm stuck having both on my computer. Thanks, Wayne
  15. I agree with John. I used Pro Man. It had FBM years ago. I never touched it. We did very complex parts, so I had no use for it. I think it will help those who do simple parts from what I saw in the demo. But for complex or multi axis, I think most 6 year olds will struggle a little.
  16. I don't think Mastercam has that feature except for straight holes. I could be wrong though. Pro-Man. had it, and I used it a lot.
  17. Just a guess, but do you have it set to minimum retract, as opposed to full retract? I don't have Mastercam in front of me and I can't remember what tab on the HST it's on but I know it's there somewhere. I think the lead in affects the retract also but I'm not sure. Good Luck, Wayne
  18. Thanks John, I really appreciate it. Best Regards, Wayne
  19. Hi Guys, My Boss told me a little while ago that we have mold plus. Yet I can't seem to figure out where it is. Any Ideas? Thanks, Wayne
  20. Thanks Robert, I'm actually trying to figure that out. I run 2 Mazaks one says it has air blast but I haven't had a chance to try it. The one I'm using is much newer but I can't find it in the manual. So I may try rigging something up. I did take murraymolds advice and slowed my spindle down and increased my feed. That helped a lot. I think another problem, may be that they didn't have the tool I ordered so I had to get a longer one. It's hanging out 4.12" So I'm thinking that may be causing a little excess chatter.
  21. Thanks murraymold, I forgot to mention I'm running 120 i.p.m. I'll slow my spindle down.
  22. Hi guys, I just got a new Iscar feed mill 1.25 dia. I'm cutting durabar 80-60-03 2000 rpm @.035 depth of cut. I'm getting a lot of sparking. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? It seems like the cutter is dull only after a couple minutes. Thanks Wayne
  23. It mostly depends on how much the powers that be, know about programming. A lot of people have no idea how much power you need to process large patterns and molds. Heck, I used to work for a place that would spend 5000 dollars to justify a 3000 dollar computer. Then they would tell you there was no money left in the budget. Good luck, hopefully your boss can understand what makes him money and what costs him money.
  24. I think it's the zig zag. Unless I'm cutting wood, I never use zig zag.
