  1. Chris, If the box is checked, you need to uncheck it. Ha Ha ( Nice self portrait) This happens to me if I forget to uncheck the rotary axis button on the toolpath parameters page. [ 05-06-2009, 11:02 PM: Message edited by: Cad-Camr ]
  2. A Haas is a Haas. A good machine for its class. We have 7 super Vf-2's (30 HP). They run 3 shifts 7 days a week. 90 percent of the time they run at 12,000 RPM. They can crank out production parts day in and day out. Not great for steel or other heavy work. If you have a little extra $, The Mori Dura would be better.
  3. Attitude is everything. Show a strong willingness to learn. Go the extra mile to help floor personnel. Get together with operators and get input and feed back on processes. Use existng program formats to help you in areas your not so familiar with. You'll be fine. Good Luck!
  4. I'm with ya Pete, As we move fixturing around the shop we encounter the need to have multiple H and D offsets for the same tool. I hav'nt discovered a way to do this other than a manual entry. Let me know if you discover a better method. Thanks
  5. We got a couple shrink fit holders to use on close tolerance parts. We didnt use good enough tools and the result was tool run out.
  6. Double check that you installed your config's control and machine definitions and operation defaults, posts from your old computer into the correct files according to you datapath settings. Easier said than done. Your having fun now!
  7. Talented people in the current job market are not interested in running old equipment or using out dated software. If you want to stay competitive keep up with technology. 2 cents
  8. Upgrading your software takes some patience. You will always have to work through some default settings and config changes. If it was plug and play anyone could do it. Consider doing it without the support of the forum. I can tell you, plenty of gray hair. Even with the bugs Mastercam is the best cam software I know of. Cheers
  9. Just an FYI Guys and gals. I moved to Oregon from Cali in 2004. I took a 40% drop in pay. Good paying jobs for programmers are few and far between unless your in Portland or Seattle. Although I'm diong well here at Bowtech Archey you dont come here for the money. The pay scale is lousy for what you have to know.
  10. Nope dont know Tom. I'm puzzled with the G1 thing to. Please post any info. Thanks
  11. K, In your finish parallel parameters click on the total tolerance button. Select a filter ratio other than the default. This will make the rest of the page selectable. Chack all the boxes create arc xy yz etc. Now when you post you should get arcs. The faceting thing happens when your geometry is splines instead of arcs. This may me the whole problem. Fun Stuff Aint It!
  12. Steve, When run times are excessive I often try a 3d swept toolpath and get better results. I dont know if it will apply to the shape your cutting. Also, step over will have the biggest effect on your surface finish. Your feed rate should be the max your set-up/ machine can handle.
  13. We have 2 Mori horizonatals in a cell, each has a 60 tool magazine. Great machines, not enough tools, big mistake.
  14. Thanks to your suggestions I now have several options to work with. Unforunately the post work is a bit over my head. Both methods, (Toolpath Editor and Adjust feed on arc), do work. Thanks again for your help. Happy Holidays!
  15. In version 9 you would select the cut you wanted to adjust the arc feed on from the operations manager and then go to job set up and check the adjust feed on arc move box. Regen, then go back to job set-up and uncheck. It worked pretty well.
  16. Thanks. That is what I ended up doing. It seems kind of tedious. I guess I was looking for a similar method to the one in version 9. Thanks for the feedback.
  17. I'm cutting a -V- shape with a radius at the point. I want to adjust the feed rate for that arc. I dont want to adjust the feed rate on all arcs in my program just a few. Is there an easy way to accomplish this task? I had it dialed in version 9, but X doesnt seem to work the same way. Any help and advise appreciated.
  18. Has anyone tried the M.A. Ford Tuff Cut series?Everything I've tried from their product line has been excellent
  19. Hey Erin, Melin makes a nice carbide 3 flute with a small radius on rhe corners, very durable!
