I will have to try that. I was just thinking that it seems like shadows almost.
-
yes mine is checked also. but it did not do this in X6. any other ideas?
-
I installed X7. Now my part shading goes dark as I rotate it around. Not all the surfaces but just 1 or 2 at a time. Any ideas?
-
I just installed X7 and it seems to have went fine. I Still have X4, X5, and X6 on my pc. Is it safe to remove X4 and X5 without causing problems with X6 or X7? What is the correct way to do this?
Thanks in advance.

thanks, that helps

Like the title says. We have an older pc with windows 2000 that we use to send files using cimco editor to a couple machines and it always defaults open to the beggining of the network path. I just want it to open from the same location or folder I opened last. It works fine on my computer. I hope this makes sense.
thanks

Thanks I think I am getting it to work now.

I ll try to attach a file for anyone that wants to try to help. Im at a stand still and going home. I am having trouble with the .500 and .438 holes. Thanks in advance.

i am rotating about the y axis. I created planes for each hole and i still cant get it to work. I got 2 holes to work and all the parameters are the same but I have 55 that do not work. Im very frustrated. Im waiting on my reseller to get get to me now with ideas. I have wcs set to top and t/c planes set to corrosponding hole. not making money today.

correct without errors.

I have my rotary axis control set to rotate about Y. I have a toolpath that uses the axis substition that posts out correct. So I do not know.
-
i got the work offset set to 0. That I get. I just dont see what I am missing to get it to post out angles for A. All I get is A0.0. Im sure its somthing simple to that im overlooking. thanks guys for the help.
-
I also get an posting error every time saying Only single-axis rotation is allowed! Angles may be incorrect. and I cannot seem to get it to post out an angle for A no matter how I set my planes. Not sure what I am doing worng.

generic hass 4th axis I meant to say.
-
Ok I tried that but when i post it I get a g54 for 1 hole and g55 for the second hole. I have my everything set to top view. Back plot looks correct. I am using a gereric 4th axis post

I have a part that is 116" alumium casting bar that is twisted on a 42.4 deg helix. I need to drill holes in it and my reseller helped me with using axis substitution for the holes that are pointing at the axis center line. But I also have 58 holes that are not pointing at the centerline. How do I go about drilling those. We normally do not do this kind of work so Im scratching my head and waiting on my reseller to get back to me this morning and just thought I would post here since I didnt find anything with search button. Thanks in advance.

We have been running it for close to 2 years and have no complaints.

I played with the numbers and I dont think there is an efficent way to do it with an uncoated standard endmill. I ended up switching it out for a 1.00 AJX feed mill to do the pocket. I had a pretty good idea this was going to happen but wanted to try it. Thanks guys.

Im looking for suggestions for feeds and speeds for a general purpose garr 1/2 carbide endmill in P20 steel. I was going to try to rough out a pocket that is .800 deep. I looked at the database but everything there is coated carbide. I was going to try 3056 rpm and feed of 81. with a 10% stepover and full depth. Am I close with these numbers?? Thanks in advance.

that worked to change the colors of last surface and then move them to a different level. I had 2 surfaces I could not see even when alone on a surface. deleted them and now it works fine.
-
It is not a solid but surfaces and lines. I tried to tell it to change color when it asked but could not see the difference. Maybe I will try changing the color when it asks and then delete or move the that color surface to a different level and see what happens. I just dont understand why it would work in x5.
-
So I have a solid works part file that X6 will open fine but will not create a surfacing tool for. As soon as Finish entering all the parameters it says want to change color of last processed surface? then says Error Regenerating Operation!( Surface High Speed Rough). I tried all the surface too paths and it does the same. I tried resaving the file in solidworks as XT and IGES and STEP. but no change. But I can open the same part in X5 and it works fine. Any Ideas? The part was one of 6 different parts from the same solidworks assembly file. The rest worked fine. THanks In advance

Yes that is where I found the decimal setting I thought I had used before and it was still set to 3 places. Am I the only one that has this problem or does it not bother anyone else. Thanks guys for your help

exactly what I mean. I found it in windows where I changed it but it alreadys says 3 places. This just changed after updating to MU2. I just find in annoying to have to go change it.
