  1. Geeze you'd think with a big dollar machine like that they would throw you a bone. Mike
  2. Have you played around with stock model operations? Use those almost exclusively now. Mike
  3. Crazy is talking about spindle probe styli. Not tool probe. The reason you want to go with ceramic is so it will just snap off at over travel. Not bend and give you inaccurate results. Mike
  4. Some people are just gluttons for punishment. Myself included. Mike
  5. Josh, You can select individual licenses from a list. You can check out as many as you want on one computer. It is basically a usb to LAN switch. Mike
  6. Yep, we have other software that's node lock but it has it's own license manager so we can do pretty much the same thing. I don't think it would be very wise for CNC to go this direction since so many people like to take their HASPS home or go to a bunch of different un-networked computers. Mike
  7. Yeah it's expensive for what is is but it works well and we can access over VPN and use all of our software that uses a HASP. Mike
  8. We have a network Hasp manager that can pull licenses from anywhere. It will just tell the user that their hasp has been removed and they need to save. Do it all the time. http://www.seh-techn...gle-server.html Mike
  9. Does the Doosan have a 31i? The Pro P control is an Oi control. I would probalbly lean Makino but I think you're in good shape either way. Especially if the Doosan has a 31i. Mike
  10. F series is traveling X and Z. Y is table. Mike
  11. I know some shops that have F5's and they seem pretty happy. Mike
  12. What make and model/year? Remember there is a lot more to making big parts than just having a big machine. You need the material handling and inspection capacity to match. Mike
  13. Yes, They wear down. They are pretty cheap though. Give Renishaw a call and get a new one. Mike
  14. Maybe it is. Our last quote is 4 yrs old. Mike
  15. This place may have something that can help. http://www.qpmproducts.com/ Mike
  16. We have been really happy w/ Makino. An A51 well equipped is $370K. Mike
  17. I was thinking the same thing. My attitude when it come to QMS is what kind of value does a process add to a system. I see a lot of companies worried about fluff and at the same time there are huge holes in the system. I always hear stuff like "ISO/AS says that we have to do this or that". People would be surprised by how much flexibility some of these systems have and that in reality it was their own people/ consultant that put all the BS in place. Mike
  18. Just read up on this. Interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentium_FDIV_bug
  19. That has been a common request for years. Still crickets. Mike
  20. Personal opinion: Nothing less than 16GB RAM, 2gb Nvidia graphics, new quad core i7. I have less than that on my home computer and it blows. If you are programming all day you can't afford not to have those minimum requirements. I've tried it. Mike
  21. Yes. TCP is a much better (actually realistic) solution to being able to transfer parts between multi axis machines. Mike
