  1. Now thats just crazy - That one went right over my head - I had tried it in the original step file i got which is just a solid instead of the one I already converted to surfaces - Good thing your here buddy
  2. Correction - I did not download it from FTP its under the tools at top of page.
  3. I think this idea of having all surfaces a different color would be great for working on something with many - I have tried downloading the chook from the FTP but it does nothing when I run it from the the Alt-c app in MX2 MR2 - maybe its not supported or I am not doing it right - anyone using this hook or anything like it? -
  4. I always select add groups and it still comes out all screwed up - I might just go to the way that Sheffer is doing it - I have tried selecting duplicate tool and still not the way I want it - Thanks to everyone for the comments.
  5. Is there a way to import toolpaths with the toolpath groups in the same order as the file they came from or is it better to just open the original file then delete the geometry and file merge the new file. Everytime I import toolpaths they are scrambled and there are no toolpath groups, there are 80+ ops and it gets a little crazy. Any help is good help - thanks
  6. Thanks J but it does not seem to be working the way I want - The Z value directly before the G83(drill cycle) is the same as my R value - I need this to be .1 and the G99 on the G83 line needs to be G98 - HAAS VF4.
  7. I have had some problems getting the drill cycles to do what I want - Say I have a hole at -.250 and I want to c drill the hole at -.350 but I need the drill to retract to .100 - Sounds simple - The problem I am having is that the cycle feeds from .100 down to -.350 - This wastes allot of time and I would like to be able to have the cycle rapid down to -.250 and feed to -.350 - I know this is the place to get answers - I almost remember reading something on this but cant find anything with a search - Thanks
  8. I am using a Haas post that came with MX2 - i keep getting alarms because of comments being to long - however i have tried to find the variable string that calls the comments in the post with no luck - anyone know what part of the post this info is in - Thank you.
  9. To me there should be a way to tell it to do the cuts the same way. Vertical or Horizontal. Oh well. Thanks guys at least i can move on -
  10. I am using a finish flowline to cut some circles 1.0 dp with angled walls - everything works fine but there are 12 walls that i select as drive surfaces - the problem is that some of the walls are cutting top to bottom and others are cutting in a circle motion - Can anyone tell me why this is happening.
  11. I posted a thread a wk or so ago about what file extensions are best to use for importing Keycreator. All of the files are solids and surfaces, i am looking for the best way to keep all the levels that are created in Keycreator, someone mentioned using IGES files. I tried these a couple times and the level names are all correct, But all the entities are forced to one level. Is this a settings issue or a file issue. If there are any people out there using Keycreator files please post a comment on what you use. Thanks..
  12. I did not know that - I just called the # from the label on the box it came in - I will try u guys and see where i can get.
  13. Jamie - I called CNC software in Ct - He tried and said that it didnt work on his system either - his only fix was to select - compute remaining stock from all previous ops under the restmaterial parameters tab. That still is not working for me
  14. So let me get this right - I run a verify with all ops - save as a stl - create a surface rough restmill toolpath - when prompted for drive surfaces select the entire solid - then when the dialog box comes up for drive check and containment click the cad file button and open up the stl file I have saved - then set my depths and regen - I have done this several times and got NOTHING - I even called support - someone help me before i slam my head against the wall. PLEASE_____
  15. Maybe i am not doing it right - There is a warning that comes up saying the operation has only an STL file to be used as stock model (no drive geometry)- Maybe someone can walk me through the procedure. Thanks cobra95kev - its a start .
  16. Is it possible to run a part in varify then save it and use the remaining stock to drive toolpaths. -
  17. Charlie good call on the (iges) - exactly what i was looking for - thanks a lot guys,
  18. I have been using step files - iges for text.
  19. MX2 MR2 - Is there a way to import a Keycreator 7.0 file with the names of the different levels. I get files with up to 50 or 100 layers and it becomes crazy renaming them..
  20. I am cutting a high speed toolpath using core roughing and can not control the maximum depth - when I select use z depths and set it to say -1.0 there is an error regenerating.(unable to determine a valid machining zone)- Any help, please....
  21. Thanks J. Thatll save me alot of screwing around.
  22. We just had a programmer leave and I am using his computer, I am thinking there has to be a way to transfer my settings from my old comp to this one. By settings I mean toolbars and mouse menus. Thank You.
  23. I am having problems with the depth of cut using the cutoff tabs with seperate op. The contour does everything fine depths are OK. But the seperate operation for cutting the tabs off does not register the depth of cuts. tried changing depths regenerate and still nothing. When I change the depth the path does go dirty but once regen there is no depths to be found.
  24. Gotcha .. thanks man - that icon is great. HAhaha
