  2. When I add a M00 before a operation using the canned text dialog the first M00 posts just fine at the top before the tool change - But there is also a M00 in the middle of the operation ??? It seems that the common place is after the G40 line - When I have a rough cut then a finish it stops after the rough and (with a Haas ) there is no way to start again without a tool length and offset.
  3. -- If I create a group with multiple entities can I use this group to drive my tool --- I can create groups just fine - But when I select the group button to display the group I cannot select any of the entities. - whats the point of groups?
  4. Yeah I tried that right after I posted the ? - Prob should have tried it before but hey - Thanks for the input guys.
  5. I know that there is a way to select multiple pockets at different depths using incr depth @ 0 - when I do this it says there is a invalid arc - Does this have anything to do with nesting chains.
  6. I read this somewhere else but cannot find it - .650 thru hole approx 1.0 deep - there is a c bore at .75 x .125 deep - can I cut both dia. at the different depths while being at the xy coord. - there are multiple holes with the same feature. I just thought of doing it with incr. I will try while I wait for an answer.
  7. Thanks neil - To bad for me - hehe , I will do it that way should still save some time.
  8. When crating curves on edges from a solid or surface is there a way to automatically have the curves at z depths be different colors, I.E Create curve on all edges from a solid that lies between Z0 - Z-1.0 I want all the lines @ Z0 to be blue and all the lines at Z-.125 to be green and so forth. - It would make it easier to select the geometry after creation - I know that I could select the geo I need and put it on seperate levels with colors set but this would be much faster.
  9. Pres I would think by the name - coursework might only be tutorial based learning - projects to do but not much info on how - Dont quote me but maybe.
  10. Never mind - Im a dummy - Got it thanks J again
  11. in your op manager >> files down the bottom where it shows the Operation defaults, click on the exclamation point at the end of the line. I dont think I know where this is ....
  12. When I use import to add a operation I have more ops listed than when I go to my machine def. I believe this is because when you export ops they are not added to the def. My main ? is how to delete the ones in the import file that I dont need.
  13. I got them in a couple of days ago - I got the handbook series all 3 volumes - I am starting at the beginning most of it I know by level 1 class at S4A - But still I have come across a couple helpful tricks - All in all highly recommended .
  14. Thanks TK I should sign up for something like that It would come in handy..
  15. Now thats service, 4 automation - lol
  16. How can I add a screen shot to my message - I need help with a toolpath and do not know how to really explain what I need done. Anyone - You , You , How about you can you tell me.
  17. Thad I would have to agree with you - That is the reason why I posted the second one - Usually around here your questions get answered before you can even think about it. So I will give this forum and EVERYONE in it a big ups for quality and attention.
  18. lol - Mike - I highly recommend you guys for any training. Thanks for the follow up.
  19. If no answers then how about a discussion - Does anyone else think this might be useful or am I on my own.
  20. How bout this - If there was a way to take the drive surface from one operation and use it as the check surface for another operation this could save crucial time and errors - Maybe there is a way that I am not familiar with but if not could someone come up with something to get this done. [Wink]

  22. Nice to hear good things - I think you guys just pushed me over the fence - Here I go I will order them tonight - I hope they dont keep me from hanging out in here -
  23. Just curious as to what the thoughts are - They have training tutorials and Handbooks - The handbooks come in 3 versions (i will get all 3) and look pretty solid as to the info described but would like a second opinion before buying $400 worth of books and end up not using a damn thing in them.
  24. WOW you guys really got into this one -I will have him give that a try. So what Pete is telling me is that with step i cant get any text or notes and with a cdl i cant get any solids. As for Charlie sounds good but now that means one more thing he has to do on his end (trust me i would be better of with a chisel and a rock)- Is there any one file type that will export averything. Mike I seem to remember you talking about that when I came in to S4A for tech day. The file I brought in wich steve worked on was a mess. Ask him he told me it was one of the worse he has seen. It will never change over here they will keep using it till the engineer retires. thankfully he is not to far away from that - But I might go to better things before that day comes.
