  2. I know there are some Haas Guru's in here so I am wondering if a 4th axis card and cables can be swapped out of one VF4 to another... This would be a perm swap the machine that has the 4th is lacking the extra memory and high speed machining. The other has the perfect setup but no 4th .
  3. Ok turns out it was in my Settings - Configuration - CAD Settings - I unchecked the boxes for Update Cplane and Tplane when changing Gview and Reset Cplane to Top in Iso Gview... Now all is good....

  15. Alright i need to drill and tap 200 5/16-18 holes in 304ss 1/4 deep down to 1/2 deep(inches)these are all thru holes. I do not do much SS so i am here for some advice. What type of drills and taps are rigid enough to cut down on breakage and some speeds and feeds would be helpful at least for a starting point. these will be done on an older VF2 prob not the best choice but only one avail. Also I have some floating tap holders but have read (somewhere) that the spd and fd have to be adjusted for the engagement and float of the holder.. I am sure there are some people that can help , I hope. Thanks ...
  16. Thanks for the input Thad..
  17. What do you do , Create curves from the solid or from the surfaces. Is there a diff in the quality of the chain. I seem to get screwy lines every now and then and I can not seem to figure witch is better if either makes a diff. Speak freely...
  18. Try using a pocket path, there is settings for the speed and feed of the finish path. Or leave stock with your current path and copy it. then go to depth and remove the extra five or ten on the walls.
  19. And here I thought this would help me out, These damn tabs are rediculous. I set them and alls good. If i want a good cutoff procedure then forget about it. Everytime I regen my tool for the cutoff changes to tool 1 , not to mention the depth cuts do not register on the cutoff path. What a real piece. Oh yeah and there is no way to get the cutoff to have a retract, I set it at .250 and the damn thing slams into my table. anyone else have any luck with these, or maybe just some advice.

    misc M-codes

DW , if you right click in your ops manager then go up to lathe toolpaths then a sub menu opens and there should be a manual entry selection. enter the code you need, and in the section NCI output method check the AS CODE dial. Now you can place this anywhere you want in the ops.
  21. Why not just move/copy the surfaces you want to another level. Then use that level to create your paths.
  22. Is there a way anyone knows of that will allow me to select surfaces between certain Z depths, say -.250 to -1.0 - and select all surfaces in that range. (I am thinking this may just be a dream)
  23. Newchsmcam - Parameter 36 program restart - the trouble with this parameter is that it brings the tool to the last location before the M00 then it continues to the next spot - I had to move my clamps to the last place milled to have clearance for the next toolpath - (CRASH)- Thanks anyway.
