The engineer at my shop keeps sending me two files for every part - A step and iges file - Apparently he cant get the text for the engraving to export with the step file - Is this just something he can change on his end and be able to get all the required geo and text to me in one file. The engineeer uses keycreator.
Every time I update a tool and save it to my library it creates another tool instead of just overwriting the current tool file - Now this means that I have to go back in to the library and manually delete the old tools - this can be a pain - Any way around this.
That is good to hear John - Sometimes it just makes me wanna stop using it and try my luck - But that approach never pays off - I get burned every time.
I am curious with all these quick regen times - How are your verify times - Especially with multiple stl saves - Should they also reduce by the same percent as the regen times or are there other equations.
I want to move a part at origin of the top view so I can use turbo in verify - And have already created the toolpaths - Now when I translate the part it moves without a hitch but I can not seem to get the paths to transform - Is this as simple as changing the planes for the created toolpaths to the top. Or is there another procedure for this.
I am creating a HST Horizontal to finish 2 floors inside of a couple pockets - It looks good but I cannot figure out how to get the retracts where I want them - As is the tool comes all the way out of the pocket as a retract from cut to cut - I want this to stay within say .020 from the floor as I am only removing .007 for a finish - Now when I change the retract values to stay within this .020 I cannot get it to retract above the part for the clearance move to the second pocket. I feel like I am getting beat by this one. - HELP!!!!
Oppiz, I went through the same problem a couple weeks ago - If you DO NOT select the retract only at beginnig and end of operation. Then it should post as a G98 (depends on post) this will let you select the feed plane to the top of your hole and retract to your clearance from hole to hole. when its done drilling from the feed plane it will go to the retract position and move to the next hole. Gotta thank JPARIS for that one.
I worked on a project yesterday - today I open it and all the toolpath groups are there in order and everything but no toolpaths - Is there a way to get them back from some sort of save file somewhere or am i screwed. cant figure out why it happened I had been saving and reopening all day yesterday and no probs. (Its gonna be a long week I can tell already)
All good Thad just giving you a hard time - And just like Bilystein said its in the parameters page - Justin Beebe its nice to know those extra little things like the right clicks they come in handy - I still cant figure out how after looking at the parameters for so long I missed it - Its right there - Thanks everyone...
Thanks Thad - U might not have been able to tell from the previous question - I do not know how to get that done. Maybe you could be kind enough to elaborate.
Can I change the direction of cut by 90° with a surface parallel finish toolpath. I selected some surfaces and it cuts in the X direction wich is alright - but the cuts are much smaller than if they where cut in the Y
What do you think of this..
Processor = Intel Q9300 quad core 2.5Ghz 6mb cache @ 1333mhz
Motherboard = Intel x48 1600/1333 mhz ddr3
Memory = Corsair 4GB DDR3 1600
Video = Palit NE Geforce 8800GT Sonic 1GB/256 Bit Gddr3 Pci Express 2.0 x 16
Case = Xion model w/ 2 120mm fans for intake and exhaust also a 80mm on side panel.
I will be using this with a Samsung 22 wide screen monitor and a 3dconnexion spacepilot.
How does that sound, any comments or changes that anyone can think of speak freely. Still have about a hundred or so left in budget.
Oh yeah I am not to sure on the whole Dual Core or Quad Core thing. I can get a Dual Core @ 3.0GHZ or the Quad as stated with 2.5GHZ. Dont really know wich is better. Both with 1333MHZ
I posted this on Off Topic by mistake so if your reading this twice SORRY.
Is there a way to get one of the selections for the cursor such as chain, single, polygon, area, etc...
to stick until I am done using it. If I select polygon it only allows me to use it once then I need to select it another time. Quite annoying actually.
I get this error at startup everytime MX2 opens.
Does anybody know what it means. And how to fix it.
