  1. check the canned text button in the ops and your defaults file;looks like it got switched on
  2. many dialog boxes now expand & contract... make a mental note to check the upper left corner for a chevron or arrow....
  3. I think John's being brief to make a point Yodo. Think about it. when you double click a file you're trusting windows and the windows file registry to 1) pick the right application 2) launch the application 3) have the application continue on and open the file. Is it really that difficult to launch the application (so it can perform it startup tasks) and then select the file to open?
  4. so let's figure out if there IS a way to do what you want, eh? one of my all time favorite quotes (attributed to Einstein) "The problems that exist in the world today cannot be solved by the level of thinking that created them" so who wansta get high ? er, think higher I mean...
  5. we are trying to help Daniel, (and we are feelthy resellers ) again it depends in the type of spline - parametric or nurbs.... and what john is saying is true - it wasn't literally an edit in V9; had to be a modify or secondary create function...looks thru the screens you're using and list the steps exactly as they're named hth
  6. use create/point/node point...and remember, paramteric splines and nurbs (non-rational b splines) are different animals.
  7. It looks like it still works the same way, only the terminology's changed; V9's modify/c pts nurbs lites up the existing control points and lets you dynamically drag 'em around...you can use F4 (analyze) to get there quicker in X
  8. do a search on the topic...been addressed
  9. Heed the warning from Big Chris Yodo1...remember cad/cam programs are literal not intuitive; giving you exactly what you ask for, not necessarily what you want...the stock to leave is being mapped along your entire chained contour, so an arc has both X and Z stock in play...if you're looking to leave material on say the face of a flat flange using the extend/shorten settings in lead in/out might be a better alternative...thoughts Chris?
  10. I tried to put the file up on the ftp but no luck....check your inbox for a message from [email protected] attached zip2go has sample ops using the generic 4x hmc....
  11. so that looks like rot lock/unlock, yes? a setting in machine def can pick that up... that post has the logic in it; look at rot_type, force_index, and rot_lock blocks....and look in the machine def..click the edit button to get the mach def mgr then click on the b axis component....
  12. quote "no offset" meaning tool centerline on chained geometry? if so check out the rolldie path..launched with a c-hook...
  13. Mike what about the customer who sent the file? were they helpful?
  14. I mean your Mastercam Dealer
  15. never mind....I don't see .idx in the list of recognized extensions....have you asked your dealer to look into this?
  16. sounds like the .idx is rev change data....? parhaps try opening the .prt then call file/change recognotion and point chg rec at the idx...?
  17. Mill is not stock aware, lathe is, hence the more complex regen
  18. If what you're looking for is comp in roughing it doesn't exist; roughing executes without diameter comp active ( using programmed nominal tool dia) diameter comp is only activated on finish for the walls/islands... so if you program for a 1/2" tool then use a .390 regrind the amount left on the walls for finish is your finish step plus the difference of nominal to actual cutter radius
  19. Ask JP when he's back from the show...I think its one of his faves....I've never been lucky enough to run one
  20. One other thought - it could be the new arc filter.....
