  1. My home type is #2 wcs g54 and const. plane is d+ z+. I did notice that in the defaults it doesn't say X10. Z10. it says D10. Z10.. Could that be part of the prob?
  2. Thats what I thought. I'm stumped.
  3. Since I changed to X4 I cant get the tool change position to reflect what I have in the contol def. operation defaults. I have X10. Z10. in every default (user defined) but when I select an operation to perform I get X5. Z10. in the parameter page-home position- user defined. Any Ideas?

    post help

I have a guy that got into the tool library that shouldn't have and I come up with unmatching h and t sometimes in the tool definitions. I tried the contol def and it didn't seem to help. thanks for the input.
  5. The controls on our Haas Vmc's have a setting that allows H ant T agreement. So if the T and H don't match it will throw up an error. Is there anyway to get your post to recognize this also before it gets to the machine. I am running X4 Mpmaster.
  6. You are on the right track. In configuation look for files. When that window opens look to the right and you will see file usage. Scroll down until you find either mill or lathe tool library.Highlite the one you want then thedefault one will show up in the selected items window directly underneath. click on the file cabinet icon just to the right and locate you file. your done
  7. Thanks guys. I use tangential line length all the time and it works great on the start and finish ends. This surface is open on all 4 sides. Is the only way to get it to extend on the non start and non finish(tangent)sides?
  8. Well I'm out of here for A LONG WEEKEND hopefully someone has the answer we need. Thanks again Strabe. I'll check back Monday.
  9. That will work but that seems like a work around. Shouldn't it be easier then that.I mean it seems like youshould be able to work directly from a model without making extra surfaces.
  10. When I use finish parallel on a solid model it seems like it will just come up short at the end of its toolpaths leaving a small radius at the end of the cut. What I mean by that is if I'm machining a small 10 deg. slope on the end of a part it should generate enough code to continue the cut beyond the ball endmill geometry leaving the last cut almost in air. What am I doing wrong? My step down on the .250 ball is about .0045
  11. They all have the same icon. I am running windows xp. Some open and some do not. for instance mmsys.cpl opened right away. Thanks for staying with me on this.
  12. Nothing happens Chris. I also notice that the file has no Icon assoc. with it. It is the basic windows Icon that shows up when there is no association. So what should it be linked to?
  13. we are using symantec anti virus
  14. I have x4 and I am trying to enable debugger. When I select MCAMX control panel applet nothing happens. It has a quick hourglass appear then disappear without a properties window opening. What am I doing wrong?
  15. How stupid was that. I must have done something to the od size without noticing because it was @ 5.75. I've been using lathe for 4 years. You would think those stupid mistakes were behind me. thank you.
  16. In X4 when I go to create stock and select cylinder I am limited to 0 to 1.998" for my ID hole through. Whats up with that.
  17. You were able to find 2d chamfer under contour toolpaths. Were is it now?
  18. I have X2 and X3 on my Pc and would like to install X4.If I uninstall X2 and X3 first will I have problems with X4 instalation.
  19. Thanks kennebec thats what I thought.
  20. I need to thread mill a 1/8-27 npt. What tools would you use from the tool library or do you have to work around and use a taper mill profile.
  21. I use filter all the time for this with one way filtering tuned on also check to see that you don't have linearize helix selected on your ramp.
  22. You guys are right it sounds that easy. But the fact still remains that the file association is correct or a mastercam window wouldn't open and then give me the ART error saying "cannot find procedure mwLineReliefS in loaded library". That is a Mastercam issue. I also get the Mastercam crash window that opens to describe to them the steps taken to create that crash. So while I don't believe it's a windows problem I guess you can't rule it out.
  23. Shouldn't I be able to just click on a solidworks part file to open it if that file extension is assoc. with Mastercam.I was able to do this before x3. NowI get an ART error saying "cannot find procedure mwLineReliefS in loaded library". If I open it thru a Mastercam window it will open. Any ideas
