try adding another zero making it O00057. This is what we had to do for our Haas. You are also going to find out you can have only about 80 characters per line or it will alarm out.this generally happens with to much info in the header.
I was just using lathe rough and found out that if the stock to leave in X is less then stock to leave in Z I do not get the correct toolpaths. It leaves the majority of the stock unmachined. But if X stock to leave is = to or greater then Z stock to leave it works fine. Anyone else having this prob.?
Dave I took a look @ your figure 8 you did on the bushing . It looked great. We always have to put a groove @ the beginning and end so when the internal groove tool plunges to do the thread cycle it doesn't create its own groove. How did you do it without those grooves.
Has anyone figured out how to do a internal figure 8 in lathe without having to go back and edit code.Right now I am just using a threading cycle in long hand and editing the code to make it work.
We went wireless 2 years ago and it was awesome. Prior to that Shop Floor Automation was providing us with communication cables. They were inexpensive and reliable @ 118,000 baud.
Thanks for the input guys. One of our big customer would like send us 500+ large finished parts and have us make 1 small modification to them. They would then like us to give them reports on the existing dimensions on those parts. The idea being if the software works well it can all be measured in the machine efficiently without moving it to the cmm. I also understand that it will also be only as accurate as the machine but in this case the tolerances are wide open. I am going to ask about them developing the software further as I don't want to get burned Like Dave has said.
When I import a solid from another file using file merge then try to change the color associated with that solid it changes the color of the wireframe and not the solid.I'm trying to show a part on a fixture and they need to be different colors. Any help would be appreciated.
We heat treat 4340 all the time. It seems to be the one that we can count on to possibly move everywhere. We heat treat in a nitrogen rich enviroment to eliminate some of the movement and warp but it still happens. Just leave enough for finishing after.
That is the work around I am already doing. I figured there would be some way the setup sheet could pull that info even though there could be multiple toolpath groups. Afterall it only selects the tools used in the individual toolpath group you post from to generate the setup sheet.
Dave thanks for the feedback but what I'm looking for is a way to get that "group_name" into the header along with programmer, machine group,
Date, etc.
