solids different faces different colors

can i make some faces other colors ??? without making into suface first then-screen,chng colors, only, surface when i try to pick a face in solids the whole model changes thanks for any info every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it autograph your work with EXCELLENCE.

I have converters from rs-232 to a rj45 and back again on the Hass units use 8 wires so there is no conflict in going from a rs232 to cat5 shielded. Anyone know how many units i can hook up to a PC using multiport serial adapters such as a Rocketport 550. MasterCam shows 4 Com ports although Windows shows 18 com ports. Any Ideas.
