  1. First THANK YOU!!! This has been driving me up the wall! I will try this in the morning, and report back on saturday. I'm thinking this may be a machine/control def issue, I've had alot of issues with my file locations with the switch to X5. Again THANK YOU!!! I apperciate the help and your tolerance for my poor english and spelling skills too!!!!!!! Thanks Matt
  2. I also get this error, unfotunatly I'm as close as the company get to an IT department, which is to say I'm the only guy who cares enough to fix of update anything. How complex would that be? Amy input would be greatly apperciated !! Also I'm runnig Windows 7 and MCX4 thru MCAMX5 are all that the computer has been used for Thank you, Matt
  3. Just switched to Seco 217/220 high feed mills from mits AJX line, no comparison!!! They cut WAY freer at at least 150% of the AJX SFM too! Less heat in the part and have better insert life, can run at high overhang with a very stable cut. BTW We cut mostly preheat treat in the 30-32RC range and soft A2/D2. I am going to try my 2.00" with a 15.o" overhang next week sometime in aluminum. Also I think that a 0 dergree rake works better on these materials over the positive rake I seen mentioned up there somewhere, positive works good for gummy stuff like alum or stainless though
  4. Thanks for the input guys Goldorak, I should have mentioned, 2 parts with 2 bores each, 68.000 apart. Even better, 40/20 mill is all I have. BUT I do have a job, so I don't want to complain
  5. Hi, just looking for some opinions I have to cut 1.500/1.5005 bores, 5.250/5.251 (flat bottom) deep on my mill, I don't think they have any business on MY mills, but nothing I can do about that. I was thinking of using 1.25 boring bar and helixing up, but the time would be forever! In a boring head I can only hold .75 bar Any ideas? Thanks
  6. Thanks for input guys, I had actually changed all of these setting probabley a year ago or so, for all of the old school low-tech stuff, they my machines will support 360 arcs, even helix.
  7. I was wondering why everything defaults to not allow 360 arcs? Do some controls not handle it? Is it less accurate? It sure makes for a smaller NC file, which is great for me becuase our old crappy machines have not so much memory Thanks
  8. We EDM tight stuff if possible, it is a be-otch, but we've never had much stabilty problems
  9. Mike, not trying to hyjack or anything but I'm guessing Axsys is your reseller Have you tried any of their classes? Just wondering I'm signed up for another one here in may or sometime, kinda wonder if it's worth the $$ Thanks
  10. 4140 HTSR 28-32 HRC sounds an awful lot like 4140 PHT (pre-heat treat, that is also 28-32 HRC) If so I run PHT 400-500 SFM W/coolant for inserted cutters. ( I know coolant) We have handy little slide charts from mitsubishi that i use for SFM, they also do FPT, IPM, MMR and some other stuff i don't use, if you can't figure FPT and IMP by hand... JM2C
  11. any body running this card, PNY GeForce 9600GT 512MB PCI-Express ? Just wondering, bought a new computer had this in it
  12. I would think that there would be Design LT version X3, but I don't know
  13. Could you Ctrl+click and and only post the ops you need for station #1, and then do the same for #2? or you could just run the entire program after station 1 is proved out, thats how i do it just my .02
  14. CADKey? I have all kinds of problems trying to import from CADKey, thats all one of our design guys uses... problem after problem... O well SW does work well for us, also i had Education Inventor for a while, import supper clean, direct dump right from inventor into MCX.
