Tony What about toolpath rauius, micro lift, and back feedrate. (Dynamic Mill)
Can you give some more details on them?
quote:
microlift , simply lift the tool by X amount to clear the back feedrate that i set at maximum machine feedrate i set this the same as goldorak when i start i will use a .01 micro lift in a .01 distance and start with a 50% rad and tweak it from there i try to keep the machine at the highest possible feed so if you have a tighter rad its slows down have a bigger rad and it can keep the feed up and i set keep to tool down and clear for boundary only
if you have coolant set to "from tool" when you import the ops you have to pick the tool to update the coolant command PIA i know i say if you save a op it should save it just how it was coolant etc

check into a nice carbide endmill and let her eat
i use a varimill with TSC on @ ss10000(machine max) feed 469ipm with a .08 stepover 1.5 DOC cuts it like butter

just calm down and take a deep breath and count to 3.....1...2...3...feel better now
you have the link for the V9 MPmaster post and there is a lot of very good people (including CNC software people) on this forum to help you tweak it in, give the post a go and where you need help with the tweaks just ask

Is there any way to get them to appear on the right side of my screen?

what i have found is that when you select the path for the defaults, ops, etc after each selection in the files area save the CD and they seem to stick.
well.... so far anyway
in the MC applet (start/all programs/ mastercamx4/MCAMX4 control applet/mastercam properties) click plus sign/ reset/ you will see on the right side "dialog positions"

, which is NOT true. [Eek!]
well i just learned something
no wonder why i get auto offsets in my program when set to -1 which is not off like i thought
i always changed my offsets for all views to 0 in view manager to lock on one offset i dont use misc values for this so i can change the offset if needed
thanks again Jim
