  1. quote: What's wrong hardwood - forget to hug your tree this morning??? Actually I've made my living from tree products for over 25 years and I don't mind hugging them at all!
  2. quote: That's OK He'll be around for 4 more years anyway I don't think so! You and I and all our son's and daughters will be better off without him and his cadre of ideological unilateralists. He will go down as another one term President just like his daddy.
  3. Call me a cynic, but I am quite certain that we will end up paying that same money and probably more before this is all settled out. And it may not be settled out anytime soon since the federal tax cuts have deferred even more burden on states and localities. We may not get an overt tax hike, but we will see some creative deceptions and deferments in the way the state pays its bills. I may have to move to Michigan. Oh, and while we're OT, how about Bush pandering to the Latino vote in this election year with his new immigration policy? [ 01-08-2004, 10:11 AM: Message edited by: WESTGATE HARDWOODS ]
  4. Do any of you guys in the upper midwest still see that cloud of profanity that's floating over Lake Michigan?
  5. quote: History will record GW Bush as one on America's great presidents.. right up there will Licoln, Washington and Rosevelt. Bold statement Gcode! Highly unlikely for someone who can't even speak the language fluently. The only tough decisions this Presdident makes are those that will advance his political agenda. I know, this is not unlike the previous President, who, by the way, I had no love for. The fact is: What the people actually want or need is rarely served by the current state of politics in this country. His trip to Iraq falls into the "let's show how much I care...Media coup...category". Having been in the Vietnam conflict and knowing what it is like to be in a situation where the morale is low, I can tell you with some authority that a visit by the President would do squat for morale unless he brought the message that we would all be going home soon.
  6. Happy Thanksgiving to all on this forum. Even though I don't contribute much, I am thankful for all the good info I glean from this forum. Turkeying at home with Family and Friends. 4 day weekend. Yahoo!
  7. Rick has the right plan here. I just got finished getting rid of a nastly little malware/adware pest that had hijacked my Homepage and Searchbar. It was from some company called "Huntbar". I couldn't even delete the Registry entry. "Access Denied". Both Spybot and Adaware caught it, but could not delete it. They may have installed something that can be deleted using your Add/Remove Program function in Windows. Or you will have to search for info, usually on some user forum for a removal procedure. I had to go into Dos prompt to get rid of mine. Good Luck, [ 11-25-2003, 11:02 AM: Message edited by: WESTGATE HARDWOODS ]
  8. Rick or anyone, I have these items active in my startup file that seem to relate to Norton Systemworks: CCAPP CCRegVfy KernelFaultCheck NvCplDaemon Nwiz Do you know if any of these are necessary? Can I disable them without affecting my Antivirus protection? Thanks,
  9. Thanks for these posts Tim. Your knowledge and experience on these issues is far-reaching and invaluable. I only wish that the intellectual and political discourse in this country would have someone like you with the cojones to make this a real public debate. These are issues that need to go beyond this forum. Glued to my seat as well. [ 11-13-2003, 06:26 PM: Message edited by: WESTGATE HARDWOODS ]
  10. USN 1967-1971 Vietnam Vet. Never had a Vets day off, including today. Here's to the Vets
  11. NPR as a general rule is community oriented through affiliates throughout the country. Each station has its own signature although they can subscribe to various national programs including news and entertainment. In my community they have 1/2 day of Local & National news, interviews, BBC news and a very interesting show called Talk of the Nation. The rest of the daytime programming is classical music, Jazz in the evening and Oldtime radio shows. The national news shows are the most in depth reporting you're likely to hear in this day of 30 second sound bites and idealogical diatribes. I say: Thank You Mrs. Kroc, I hope to do the same with my vast fortune
  12. Hi All, I started using MC Mill 8.1 a couple of years ago and am now using the latest Router v9.1. Even though I check in here every day, and have gleaned valuable info, I rarely post. So far so good. We do wood so I often don't have a clue what some of you machinists, mold makers, etc. are talking about. Some of you guys spend so much time on this forum I often wonder when you actually produce something. Cheers
  13. Two I saw recently: "How did our oil get under their sand?" "I'm sick of this Bush*t!"
  14. I just recently started using the graphical interface setup sheet. It takes several minutes to print out. Is this normal or is there some configuation that I can set to speed up the process?
  15. Mark, I downloaded the driver from the Nvidia site. My computer is a custom built unit, not off the shelf. I've uninstalled the driver and reinstalled a couple of times now. Thanks, Craig Jones Westgate Hardwoods
  16. Yes, this is a TI4200 card. I think I read somewhere that someone suggested mouse related problems. When I use the F1 key to zoom I don't get the issue, only with the mouse click. Thanks, Craig Jones Westgate Hardwoods [ 02-04-2003, 10:17 AM: Message edited by: WESTGATE HARDWOODS ]
  17. Hi Mark, I currently have Gforce4 nvidia 128 mb video card with the latest drivers installed. Craig Westgate Hardwoods
  18. Thanks for the replies. I have tried all of the suggestions and still have the issue. It's not a big deal, just annoying when the menu is right over the area I want to zoom to. Thanks, Craig Jones Westgate Hardwoods
  19. Just recently I have had my sub-menu's hang on the screen until I refresh. (e.g. when I right click to zoom, the zoom menu remains on the screen until I enter.) I am running MCRouter v8, 2ghz p4, 1gig ram, 128mb nvidia, WinXPpro. I don't recall making any dramatic changes to cause this. Has anyone else encountered this? Craig Jones Westgate
