  1. hi guys im having trouble with the transform option in mill8.. if i have 6 cavities to mc i program 1 then rotate the toolpath around the origin 5 times x 60 deg .. when i do this in toolpaths-next menu- transform it backplots correctly rotating it around but when i post it the code just repeats itself on the original toolpath that started with.. if i use edit nci and rotate it works perfectly.. othe times ive mirrored toolpaths with the transform function and it puts weird moves in for me... any help appreciated
  2. hi all, been using the collision check function on mill8... when i run it it says no gouges are reported yet the gouge volume has a value to it.. what exacly is gouge volume and what unit is it measured in and why should it show a value if no gouge is reported? see ya

  4. Is anyone out there familiar with the proper use of the mirror function in the moriseiki vmc mv65 control? In setting(handy) page there is a switch mirror image X (0: off 1: on) Y (0: off 1: on) Z (0: off 1: on) Ive tried just switching it in the y but my g54 overtravels in the y direction.. do you have to change the g54 value to a positive to use this function? And do you have to add a special g code to the program as well.. thanks [ 08-08-2001: Message edited by: Webmaster ]

  12. Hi ya all, when you mill a 2d contour you can use entry-exit vectors on your toolpath so ya dont have to extend the lines on your geometry.but to machine say a flat surface i can add an entry or exit vector on the entry and exit moves only(i think)but can i actually make my tool enter and exit my flat surface on each parallel pass over it by a certain amount. so in other words i want to start say 5 mm off the job, machine across then exit 5mm then do the same for the next pass right the way across my surface...any help appreciated. using mill 7.2b thanx

  14. Hi guys has any one heard of a converter for mastercam that will read .stp files? Apparently the ford motor company here in australia has a new system called ideas or something to that effect sort of like unix for all their solid modelling and so it means if we want the work from them we need to be able to read these files. You inprot them into solidworks and solid edge i believe so any help reading them in mastercam v7.2 would be appreciated.....
  15. whenevr i post my nc file i get these strange comments at the start of my file first i get the message that my surface machining patch thows out ie(oct 7 1999) then it spits out the following.. ((10200=3.141593)) ((10204=0.025000)) ((10205=12.00000000)) ect about 20 times like this then my program starts. when it posts the file it also says cannot save more that 50 pre-sof comments hit enter to continue.. 16. Hi guys this is not really a mastercam question but more a computer question. I am beginning to have eye problems while looking at the computer for long periods of time.. The fact that the walls of our small office are white, with white fluro lighting doesnt help much.. besides geeting glasses is there an ideal coulor to paint the walls to reduce reflection and any type of special lighting to use.. we tried a screen filter to reduce glare but it sits an inch away from the moniter and is not too cool to look at... any comments would be great... see ya
