Hi, I have a problem using the ruled tool path, its approaching from the bottom of the block machining the rad I want then going home again back down. All my other tool paths are working correctly,Coming from the top,I'm using The WCS set to back, Its shows this on back plot and also post with this error. I've had similar problems with Ver 9 in backplot but it always posted correcly has anyone else seen this happen.??
My machine definition is set with correct max feed rates but my VMC can exceed this feed rate by x2 when using "rigid tapping". Now when I bring in my tapping tools the feed rate is change to max feed setting,(slower) but retains same RPM ( not good ),Yes my feed calculation is set to tool, I am not able to overide the max setting in the feed rate box.
Is it possible in the machine definition settings somehow to allow a high feed rate for rigid tapping or a diferent z axis feed setting?. Mcam 9 imported the this without altering feed settings. Thanks for any help
My machine is a Hass Tm1 .
Yes Hardmill thats when I Analyze enity proerties
I get I get Closed solid body which dosn't make any sense because I don't have a Solids licence and it seems to be only a shell like surfaces form
a solid would be, but it thinks its a solid.
Does this make sense ???
Sorry Hardmill, But when you import a solid step file ( When you don't have a solids licence ) it comes in as surfaces only. You don't need to create surfs, its already done after importing.
I forgot to mention I only have Level 2 McX
I think somthings wrong with importing steps,
I can't pick a single surface to machine, but if I open it in Mc9 then bring it into McX there is no problem.
Yes this is funny, when I analyze enity proerties
I get I get Closed solid body, Normally I can analyze a single surface at a time, but now the entire block lights up as a single enity.
Hi John,
Normaly in Mc9 I can import step files with surfaces (No Solids)and then move them around with no problems,In McX I can import them with surfaces (No Solids)no problem, But I cannot rotate them after that, only wire frame
I didn't need solids option before?
Hi Guys I can't get McX to Xform rotate or copy rotate my parts with surfaces,it only gives me wire frame, it gives me a warning that I require the solids option. No I don't have solids, but this shouldn't be needed for surfaces, is anyone else getting this.
Thanks Psychomill, I didn't think of a dovetail cutter, I guess it's a matter of making contours the right radius and lenght and being position in the correct place to get the chamfer size you need.I hoped it would as simple as a normal 3D chamfer.Thanks.
Hi,
I have a production job that requires me to chamfer the top and bottom of 3/8" (10.0mm) rod that are laying flat down in a jig after I have trimmed there ends. The problem is the underhalf
I was thinking of using a threading cutter using one side or angle to applie the chamfer. How do you chamfer undercutts using MC chamfer settings.
I only have a 3 axis VMC.Any Ideas thanks.
Hi I just got a new Hp NW8000 laptop,
it has a ATI Fire T2 card. Recommened for cad/cam
work, 1 Gig Mem and also comes with a Serial Port.Works perfectly.
Hope this helps.
Hello I.m from Auckland ,I design and build press tools. Almost all my questions get asked and answered here before I get to write them down, and the search is great, and Oh boy the free entertainment.
Regards Jim.
Hi KJS I have owned my Tool room mill for 2 years now, and I'm 100% happy . I design and build progresive press tools up to 18 stages for electronics parts running 0.1mm material, also do light production on it. The TM1 is very accurate and so easy learn. I had no Cnc experence before I bought. Mine has the ATC.
This machine is perfect for me but would not recomend it for mould making or heavy cutting production work, it is what it's called a Toolroom
Mill.I wish only that it had a few more Rev's.
