Thanks!
Is he dependable and ethical? Do you have his phone that you can share?
Nothing really that can be done over the phone. We simply can't afford to have them idle for too long (weeks actually) and our current repair guy is a very busy person...
We have 4 spn50 in an fms and 2 hn63c in an fms as well. They're tired machines...
"When using transform, if I end at B270, I want to pick up at B270 and work backwards, however, programming in 1 location, that is not easily done without a fair bit of hand editing."
Not sure if that's what you're after, but try "-1" in transform toolpath under "assign new" "increment" in "work offset numbering"
Oh, I got all the options I asked for which is pretty much the whole list presented in the above video.
We had fanuc install them few months after purchasing the equipment.
I ended up adding pretty much all the options 2 months after equipment installation. That's what happens when decisions makers don't do homework before spending $$$ and trust a verbal guarantee "don't worry, it's got every option you will ever need" lol:))
Any way to compare verification times between your old and a new pc? Can you pick something with substantial verification times (30+ minutes)?. I'm loosing a lot of time on that. I'd greatly appreciate it.
Seems that toolpath generation times are not that bad anymore with multicore processors. It's the verify that seems to become more of the bottleneck for me.
It also affects tools. I had a toolpath (pictures I sent you today) already done. I edited the length of the lollipop shoulder so it could gei deeper into the part, but after regenerating the toolpath didn't change at all. After creating a new tool with exactly the same parameters, selecting it and regenerating the toolpath it finally "kicked" in and changed my toolpath as expected.
It is/could be a minefield, just like you found out. I do the same thing though. Copy/paste/edit parameters (for an extra rough path). At the first sign of trouble I nuke it and start from scratch. A lot of hours saved that way.
Your 3rd picture shows you using classic backplot.
I didn't read thru the thread in it's entirety, but I highly recommend you don't use classic backplot on any rotary and especially 5axis moves.
Hi John,
I'm back at the old place, they asked nicely .. The 2 morons that run the place got fired...so I'm back at multiaxis and pretty involved 3d high speed surfacing...
Verifying takes between 1-3+ hours/day. Looking to improve this number with a better PC. We also got a really sharp programmer that come from a shop where they used boxx pc's and he said they were flying thru similar verification. That started the whole conversation about upgrading.
