"Has anyone seen anything like this before?"
+1 to Rsteward
Yes.
Copying/merging most 5axis toolpaths has been giving me similar problems. Seems that there is some "residual" info within them, that when I edit those merged/copied paths the effect is not what normally would happen.
I still do try to do that to save time, but when I see that my edits/changes don't work I will immediately start the new 5axis toolpath from scratch.
Remove the print leaning against it lol...
I still have one of the original space pilots and every now and then it does it...in my case though, it's just a piece of paper (usually a print) leaning against the controller ever so lightly pushing it
Yes you can. Save as stl, flip it around an use it as stock in the next op.
There is an easier way though. Create both ops in the same mcx file (I use separate machine groups) and use wcs. Create stock in first machine group and it will verify nicely thru the whole process.

I just found on the other forum that Mori APT CL is on hold.
I'm guessing that buying Mastercam MT module would be a waste of time and money at this point
John, thanks for the info.
So, The way I understand it, there is no middle man "post" guy. The whole package comes from CNC software.
Who is your "go to" guy with this machine at CNC software?
Thank you.
1 lower turret, 2 spindles, 60? capto tools, brand new.
New territory for me. I've been asked this question and I don't have much experience in this.
I know that having a Vericut would be a must as I already wouldn't release any 5-axis program without it.
The company is struggling with mastercam/post combination to run this machine.
We have several top notch guys on this forum running those machines successfully.
What are you recommendations?
TIA
"Yes no matter how good the program, process and method you come up with Crashmaster whoever is determined to make it bad they can make it bad"
Absolutely correct Ron
A good machinist can make the worst programmer look great, but by the same token the crappy machinist can make the best programmer look really bad.
If it does, it makes a crappy use of it. Seems that it rarely goes past the 50% utilization. This low utilization points me more toward fewer cores with higher clock speed, but I could be wrong.
I wish cnc software would voice their experience in this regard
I think I'm fairly happy with how fast MC generates toolpaths (especially HS toolpaths) since it takes minutes but I'm very disapointed with verification speed. That appears to be driven by a single core and that's where the clock speed makes the biggest difference..i think, lol
Thanks BenK

For the sake of discussion, MC doesn't really take advantage of multicore and according to the above benchmarks 6700k is 15-30% faster in 1-4 core applications...
BenK, I wish CNC Software was more proactive with hardware specs
When we inquired about Haas and asked the local dealer (haas and makino dealer) about glass scales on them, we were told that if we really needed a glass scales to just get a makino.
Like Bob said, "lipstick on a pig" LOL :-)
Having said that, out matsuura 5axis has glass scales standard
