We had a guy surface grinding 300 pieces 2"x3"x3/16" steel plates on a grinder that had six sections to the magnetic chuck. Needless to say the grinder was as old as dirt and one of the six sections wasn't magnetized. The first pass across the bad section sent them into the rest of the pieces and them babies took off like unloading an AK-47. I was about 200 ft. away but in plain view of all this. He hit the floor and was crawling to hit the e-stop. Meanwhile everybody else took shelter as these plates went thru windows, walls, toolboxes, etc. Really quite funny to watch since nobody was injured. If you could of seen the look on his face reaching for the e-stop.
If your running a pocket toolpath with ramping: Go to the pocket parameters tab. On the bottom right side there is a "Override Feed Speed section just for this.
Made an alumminum mold for a Porsche hood. A guy is spending 30k to have his own mold made and run one part, then destroy it. He wants to be the only one with a hood like this.

You might want to check into a coromant hydro-grip from Sandvik. They are really precise as far as runout. They have a bladder full of hydraulic fluid that grips the collet. We use them and they are well worth it if you want something to run true.

I just read the latest MC bulletin and seen where it says that age, horsepower, table weight, etc. Are all factors that influence the machine dynamics. I understand all this, but knowing all the dynamics of the machine tool, how do I figure them into my parameters? Is there a formula to figure all this in for each set of my machine dynamics?
I need to limit my line numbers in my nc files to 99,999. Is there a way to do that? And if so, is it a post edit, or is there an option in MC. Thanks for the help.
I would like to see Mastercam use "trailing files". Everything you do, and every move you make is saved. If you ever need to backup and re-do, or change something you have already done, all you have to do is bring up a log, and highlight your move and make your changes.
