Up until now I've been using V9 posts that have been tweaked to give me the exact output I like to see. But it has come to my attention that there is a possibility I may get more functionality (hopefully not more problems) from the X2 post so I'm in the process of setting those up. The problem I'm having is on my initial positioning move (for the 1st tool and all following tools) I like the line to look like this:
G0G90G54~X~Y~B~M3S~
The ~ being whatever it is.
The point being I want all that info on that 1 line.
But I can't get anything after the B to show up on the same line. Is there something limiting how many characters per line?
How do I use it? I put both files in my VB directory, I ran the VBS file but I get:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error
Object variable not set
IActiveScriptSite::OnScriptError()
Line:
I have an old post that has a statement for outputting my extended offsets. it goes like this:
[
p_wcs = workofs$ - six #five
"G54.1", *p_wcs
]
This worked in my old posts but is not working in my v10 post. All I get is G54.1 P0
Anyone have any ideas?
The WCS has to be in Top and the tool plane needs to be at the rotation. The difference between the WCS and the toolplane is what determines there is a rotation and causes MC to output the correct code.
I'm setting up a new tool library in X2 MR1 SP1. Before I "upgraded" to SP1, when I created a new tool and saved it to the library I was prompted to append or overwrite. I'm not getting this choice anymore and I'm getting duplicate tool numbers when I have to edit settings in the tool parameters. What can I do to overwrite the tool I'm editing in the library if I have to change some of the tool parameters? Thanks, Mike
Every file I open now that was created in a version prior to X2 MR1 SP1 shows the toolpaths (all) as dirty. I regen them, save the file, close down MC and when i start it up again they're dirty again. Sometimes, when I regen them, save the file and don't close MC they turn dirty again. When I select them again and regen them I get an error messages that says "0 operations selected" but the operation I selected still has the check mark on it. I've sent 1 of the files to QC last week but have yet to hear from them. Any ideas?
I have a new set up (computer) with an Nvidia Quadro FX1500 card in it. The first thing I did was download current drivers, (uninstall old because I know some will ask), and installed the new drivers. I've changed the settings to what I've seen suggested here, (thanks Colin) but when I run verify my screen background turns to the same color as the first tool. I have the change tool color setting checked so as new tools come up they change the background where ever they move to and then it changes back to the original color. This makes it hard to see what's going on with the part and it looks pretty lame to our Gibbs programmer here (lol). Any suggestions?
It looks like the problem was the backup stuff. I stopped the backup and the problem went away. I don't think the back up function works very well. I had the increment set at 1 and the max limit set to 3 and the start set at 1 but when I opened up the folder where I was saving the backups there were 6 copies (so far). I'll just stick to the autosave and 1 original.
I have set my default paths for files to a directory but after I work on a file and save it to it's correct location that location now becomes the default file location. I've set up my auto save and backup functions to save my file to the location c:autosavet.mcx. The first time the file backs up and autosaves it saves to this location. The next time it saves it saves to the folder of the file I'm working on and not to the default autosave file location. In fact it CHANGES the default location. WTF? Is this remembering the file locations a Windows function or MC function? Where can I turn it OFF?!? Thanks in advance, MIke
Take the G41 D1 off that last line of code. You're turning the comp on in the last quadrant or the arc. If you're using cc in control the toolpath will add 1/2 the diameter of the cutter in the last quadrant.
Did that. Also changed the tip comp from tip to center although that made as much sense as rolling around corners, checked and unchecked infinite look ahead and changing the types of comp. I finally just e-mailed a Z2G file to QC and am now just going back to MR2 so I can keep machines running.
