  2. I'm so excited just downloaded the X9 beta.
  3. Solidworks require FirePro or Quardo for realview to work which "instant rendering" There is a hack to get realview to work on AMD Radeon or Geforce card. Fluid Calculations/ Sim work just fine with out Quardo or Firepro because I use couple times a week
  4. No! Horrible Selection. Only thing is good is the Xeon but I wouldn't recommand a Xeon for you either. I would save the money and go I7 47XX or step and go I7 5820. Not enough ram 16gb minimal for desktop cad/cam workstation No SSD. No modern Workstation should come with out an SSD at least 256gb Send me link something confusing about K4200 in lenovo but they added on 2200? $2k? Really ask dstryr about the computer I recommand for him it was around $2.5 mark but had a hexcore and 512SSD
  5. Ran some testing for myself. Using the Benchmark Here: 3min 54sec Mastercam X8 (lastest patches and service pack) Brought a 290X just for you Fogorn. I could shave a couple seconds running mastercam off a ram disk but a pain to use everyday. 3930K OC 4.5GHZ (everyday overclock) R9 290X Two 850 EVO 500 GB ( Raid 0) 840 Pro 256 GB (OSX) 32gb 2133 Mhz Ram Seasonic Gold 650watt Corair Air 540
  6. Yes sir. Designing my own desk though.
  7. Nice setup here is mine. My little slice of heaven 3930K OC 4.5GHZ R9 290X ( I switch video cards alot for beach marking) Two 850 EVO 500 GB 840 Pro 256 GB (OSX) 32gb 2133 Mhz Ram Seasonic Gold 650watt Corair Air 540
  8. Run it on your laptop to see if verify loads the gpu
  9. Man, I7 base clock at 4ghz turbo up to 4.4ghz that should chew up gaming and cad/cam work
  10. You need a Quardo 5000 or 6000 for sli
  11. Inventor, Solidworks and Open GL benchmarks.
  12. Hdmi 1.4 does support 4k just at 30hz Hdmi 2.0 supports 4k at 60hz
  13. Look we have keyboard warrior. Do some research ATI/AMD http://cdn.overclock.net/2/2a/900x900px-LL-2a4e4145_08-SW-03.png http://media.bestofmicro.com/Z/L/382305/original/06-DirectX-Inventor.png http://media.bestofmicro.com/Z/J/382303/original/05-OpenGL-Synthetic-01-PostFX.png
  14. M3800 Min 8gb Ram min 256 SSD My recommendations: 16gb Ram ~500gb SSD NOT HDD
  15. 1. Too much money. 2. Scaling 3X is horrible 3. CAD/CAM will not benefit from 3. I have been telling coworkers/posting that quardo/firepro are waste of money much better bang for your buck is Middle of Road Ati or nvidia "gamer" card and put the saved money into SSD's two of them in raid 0.
  16. I don't use mine much because I'm just as fast on keyboard and mouse. I programmed the left side of the keyboard for really common functions. I try to keep the main functions the same across all of the cad/cam programs I use
  17. Would the endmill last cutting the "slot"
  18. I can't find the option to use the drill hole as a entry point. I dont see Optirough either just opti-area, opti-core, opti-rest. I assume you mean opti-area?
  19. Do you think a 2inch high feed would be to big?
