  2. Everyone I talked to so far, mills it. Including Fadal service.
  3. I found of shop that can cut the turcite on my table. Does anyone know the size and thickness that Fadal uses for the saddle and table? I qot a price on the turcite kit from Fadal. I want to see what it will cost if I order it from a Turcite supplier.
  4. Turcite won't be flat once you glue it on. You also need to cut oil grooves in it.
  5. I recently purchased a Fadal 4020. Before I start running it, I want to replace the Turcite on the table. Does anyone know of anyone the Reading, Pennsylvania area that can machine the Turcite after I install it? Thanks,
  6. Anyone have any experience with one of these? I am thinking about buying one to do some milling with a 1mm ball in aluminum. It is the cheapest Speeder that I have seen. ATC-Mac
  7. Anyone know where I can get a TR20x5 tap custom ground, or find a thread mill? Thanks
  8. That's what I'm thinking... I was thinking about doing it in 12" wide sections, so the plates would be easier to manage.
  9. I just purchased a Fadal 4020 HT. The machine is in good condition except the table is worn. Is there any way to resurface the table while it is on the machine? If I can't find a resonable solution, I think, I am just going to mount an aluminum sub plate to it. Thanks,
  10. Can someone tell me what software uses the *.GEO extension?
  11. Thanks Avs_Fan I was thinking about trying that...
  12. I need to cut o-ring grooves in the face of a part. 2.5" diameter .08" wide, .09" deep. I am looking for a holder similar to an adjustable boring head that will take an insert. I have found one manufacturer: atptools.com Does anyone know of any other manufacturers? Thanks
  13. I have a 1997 Haas VMC that has a processor board that is going bad. I have bought a new board, but I can't find any documentation on removing the control software from the old board and installing it on the new one. The parameters and settings, I can do. Anyone have any experience with this?
  14. The company I currently work for is looking into purchasing a 5 axis router to cut secondary operation and check fixtures out of RenShape. I know little about 5 axis machines. The companies I have contacted already are: Shoda, Thermwood, DMS, and Quintax. Can anyone give me some input on machine makers, quality, and service?
  15. Is there Palm OS or Windows CE based DNC out there? I could of swore I saw a Palm based one before...... Thanks, Matt N.
  16. I'm interested in seeing some screen dumps. Anybody?
  17. Just wanted to get an idea what you guys out there are doing with the solids package in MCAM. The last thing I modeled in mastercam solids was this screw driver, over a year ago. It was just for fun....., but it is an exact replica. Let's see some art. You can fid the screwdriver as Solid Craftsman.jpg in: ftp://mastercam:[email protected]/Ma..._Jpg,gif,bmp's/ Fire it up!!!! 18. Never mind.... I fingered it out.
  19. How do you return to the standard pallette after using v7colors?
  20. Anybody have a surfaced Steam Locomotive?
  21. Mark is right you can export all the way down to v7.0 parasolids out of UG NX
  22. Go to the "Finish contour parameters" page in your tool path. Click on the "cut depths" button. Select Absolute. Make your Minimum depth 1.0 and your Maximum depth 0.0. This will give what your looking for.
  23. V9SCALLOP Contain3.zip is the good one. Jay, please delete "V9SCALLOP Contain" and "V9SCALLOP Contain2" they are failed upload attempts. Thanks
  24. I am upping the file with the containment boundary. It does work. As far as rotating the part and getting a different path.....If you want to get a similar path when rotating the part you should change the bias angle in respect to your rotation angle. eg: rotate the part 180, change the bias angle to 180, and so on...... Jay, I had the same thing happen with the flowline path. It's the surfaces that are color #6 that ruin that one. With only the blue surfaces you can make a nice flowline. 25. I personally would have used a multi-surf flowline toolpath going horizontally across the surfaces for this piece. But that's just me.
