  1. Try opening a new blank file and then close Mastercam. I've had issues when exiting in the past and since I started doing this I've not had any problems. Kevin K.
  2. In the chain options dialog box there is "machining region strategy" select "from outside" in that box. Kevin K.
  3. It is awesome. I am amazed at how powerful it is. The folks at Mastercam really outdid themselves on this one. Kevin K.
  4. I upgraded a pc to MU2, so it had X6 and X7 MU2 on it. Both became completely intertwined. X7 was using some X6 files so I uninstalled X7 and that messed up X6. I ended up dumping everything from both X6 and X7 and starting over with just X7. Not sure if that was a one time glitch or maybe other people might be seeing it. I have several other computers here with both 6 and 7 on them and have not seen this issue except the one time. Kevin K.
  5. That's exactly what I did. It looks to me like the ramp on and off don't see the part or boundaries and will violate them. Can someone say if that is correct? Kevin K.
  6. I have both of those unchecked. So if I have multiple machine groups and each one has it's own wcs, should the wcs switch to the appropriate one when I move the red cursor into that machine group? Because that's what it looks like it's trying to do but it most always gets the wrong one. Not sure how to say that and make it less confusing. I recorded a video of my computer screen showing what happens but it does not seem to want to upload. It's right at 1 gb so I thought the size was ok. Maybe it doesn't like the .avi file. Kevin K.
  7. I did have reset cplane to top in iso view turned on so I unchecked it. I already had update cplane and tplane when changing view unchecked. So I'll see what that does. Thanks, Kevin K.
  8. Well crap, that was easy. Thank You. This image shows what I am doing. So the question is, am I using it correctly? Also usually on the "planes" page if I select a plane and then hit the arrows it will automatically populate the tool and construction planes with top, but sometimes it puts the plane I created in them instead and that seems to work fine but I don't know why it does that. Thanks, Kevin K.
  9. Sorry X7 sp2. I should also mention that I am fairly new to using WCS. I have been trying to insert a jpg but am not having any luck. Anybody wanna help me with that. Thanks, Kevin K.
  10. I am using different WCS for different sides of blocks and it keeps changing on me. I have different machine groups for each side that i work on and when I move the red marker to a different group a lot of times the WCS will flip to another view. Also when I run classic backplot it will flip sometimes. I should also note that when I switch machine groups it does not switch to the WSC for that group it will go to a different one and it doesn't happen all the time. Does all this make any sense? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks, Kevin K.
  11. After you change a tool number in an operation regenerate it even though it does not show as being dirty. That should take care of that problem, it has for several of us here. Sorry can't help with the first problem though. Kevin K.
  12. I had this same issue for a while then it just cleared up. It seemed like if I would open a new blank file and then shut down it would not crash. You might try that. Kevin K.
  13. Thanks guys, I have sent one of the files to them so hopefully they can find a problem and get it fixed. Kevin K.
  14. I have 2 guys in the shop seeing this and I'm not sure whats going on. Please see the attached image. We are running X7 SP2. It only happens using surface finish contour and not all the time. What happens is Mastercam appears to be scaling up the size of the part being cut. Usually you can just re-pick the surfaces to force it to recalculate and then it's fine. Sometimes it will create code that is fine but if you go back and change a Z depth it will scale it up. We just had one cut do it and could not get it to fix so we had to create a new operation and then it was fine. Has anyone seen this? Any ideas? Thanks, Kevin K.
  15. Anyone know when it might be released? Kevin K.
  16. I've got them. I can email them to you if you want? Kevin K.
  17. I have also been seeing ops randomly dirty as have a few other people in the shop. I have also had files change when I reopen them. Like several random levels will be on that I know were not on when I saved it and the view will be different. I'd like to know how/why Mastercam is changing files after they are saved. I really hope SP2 is released soon with a whole lot of fixes. Kevin K.
  18. Mine is a .tooldb. Any chance this could be an Antivirus issue? Kevin K.
  19. I have the file on my local hard drive. Kevin K.
  20. All my tools are newly created in the X7 tool manager. Kevin K.
  21. I did that and then when I save the file and reopen it I have different paths that go dirty for corrupt tools. So I fix those close it and go through the whole thing again. Like 4 or 5 times before it's cleaned up and stays and then I got the multiple tools error when I tried to post it. I had imported some of these tool paths from a different X7 file and I thought that might be the problem. I deleted all the paths and recreated them from scratch, that seemed to fix it for a little bit but then I got the other problem I posted the picture of. I don't know if there is something with this file it doesn't like but this one has been a real mess. Kevin K.
  22. OK. Sign me up for this problem too. I got an error when trying to post, see the pic "multiple tools error". And the other picture shows a tool path that's not dirty but the tool is not even listed but look in the Quick View window and that's the tool. This is turning into a real mess, especially when it doesn't seem to know what it's posting. This is just a small sample of the tool issues I've been having. Any hope of a fix soon? Kevin K.
  23. Thanks Jim. We are up and running on several PC's now. The other one that was crashing on start up ending up being a .net issue. For some reason X7 was having trouble installing the .net. I uninstalled all .net's and re-installed the latest form Microsoft (V4.5) and all is well. I will keep an aye on the registry though. Thanks, Kevin K.
  24. We just installed X7 and the service pack on another computer and we are having the same problem. We get the splash screen then it crashes. Does anybody have any ideas? We have about 20 seats of Mastercam and so far have had this issue on 2 out of 4 that we've tried to install X7 on. Thanks, Kevin K.
